Scanning media multiple samba shares..

Postby silma » Fri Jul 06, 2012 8:30 am

Hello

I have HTPC Mac Mini at home which has subsonic newest beta installed. I have Qnap ts-419p NAS with 4x1tb drives where i have my music etc. I have my samba share mounted in osx and i have the correct path to 2 different locations in the NAS /Volumes/Download/completed and /Volumes/Multimedia/Music.. now the problem is it used to work just fine but recent months it started to left out some of the files when i scanned the library and those files worked before just fine.. well i deleted subsonic and config files and did fresh install. put my settings again and those paths to files -> everything worked again just fine about a week now when i scan library it stops in 7073 file mark every time and log doesn't give any errors.. before new install it did the same thing but it scanned only about 300 files. First NAS share works now fine but the other won't show any files??!??

is this something to do with osx?, subsonic? i would use the qpkg version of subsonic straight from qnap but its outdated version.. only error i found from logs are some java memory heap errors with some cover art. This same problem started in last stable version after that i tried this beta release.

How much memory have you allocated to SS/java?
Also look in logs and see if it stopping on the same files - I know SS does not large cover art files especially embedded.
If you temporarily disable the first share and do an update/rescan on the 2nd that should bring in at least some of those files.

GRRR this is annoying aaaargh.. i just allocated 512mb for java but in subsonic page it says still 150mb and 50 used...

i moved the other share folder to same folder which was working fine and before this it just ended the scan in 7056 mark.. now when i scan it stops 7215 every time and i don't get any new files and only old ones work.. i thought it was because i had 2 shares in same NAS but now i only have one but it still don't work. log files doesn't give any errors it just stops in 7215 entries and thats that.

soon ill need to revert back to use ampache or something blah
