4.7. Beta2 feedback

Postby HighCast » Wed Jul 11, 2012 9:26 am

i there,

The software appears to work better than 4.6 stable did.
At least some of the lyrics appear to be working.
Rebuilding the search index is faster after the first run.

Would it be possible to have the option to collapse the playlist view on the left pane? Also other lists should be collapsable.

Is there a way to reduce the system input of debugging information on event list while playing something? It appears to be gathersing really big amount of data to the log.
Is this handled by some registry setting or by something really easily tweakable setting?

I tried Beta 2 a couple of weeks ago when it was released.
I rolled back to 4.6

Reason: I have a large collection. When Subsonic started up & rescanned it took AGES. Hours. For 2.5GB approx of music
Anyway I am assuming this is to do with the media tag reading on scan rather than filename scanning.
- additionally new folder did not appear immediately when scanning the "parent" folder (such as it was)....

Can the old file scanning feature be re-added please as an option?
For the above performance issues. Also allows me maintain currency then with version & other features/fixes.

Otherwise loving my Subsonic

Killunit,

I just recently upgraded to 4.7 beta 2 and love it. My music collection is 200GB and the indexing time was DRASTICALLY cut. To the point that when I started the scan I walked away and just a few mins later everything was up.

Hi,

if i kill Subsonic while scanning media folders it don't come up again until i delete following line(s) in "home/db/subsonic.script similar to:

Code: Select all
SET TABLE MEDIA_FILE INDEX'391186288 391143456 391143456 391186896 391142664 391143456 391134728 391406928 391186288 391186288 391186288 391172808 391186288 17653'

Hope you can fix that in stable release, because my media scan takes up to 1 hour.

The "home/db/subsonic.data" file is very big at the beginning of scanning the files. About 400 MB. If the scan has finished the file is about 30 MB. Why is that?

5,672 artists
3,636 albums
40,560 songs
292.42 GB
2,947 hours

Works damn fast. Faster than 4.6..
Though, I have no tags - at least much - and the songs are as-is. There's quite large variety of different bitrate MP3's and some FLACs too.
