Not 100% sure what up , but Im having serious issues with no coverart displaying. Everything else seems good , it adds music , displays correctly and all. but I cant click on any albums from the 'home' page without that cover art being displayed. If I float the mouse over top of where the image should be , I get the 'mouse over' displayed artist - album name pop up though.

Is there something I might have missed? or does that feature not currently work?.. otherwise , its looking fantastic! I love how the mashup has release years displayed too . anyways , im running the latest java and installed the sdk as well just incase... so Im at a loss here.

if theres no info you need , let me know.

thx.

I tried chrome and everything was workin great on that , ... I dont mind keeping chrome going , but a working IE would be kinda nice. (Sorry on adding this later , but realized chrome was working after)

Which version of IE are you using?
There is a problem with 4.7 not displaying cover art on IE8 which Sindre is aware of.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, Image but some abuse the privilege!

Due to the confusion from too many genres of music, we have decided to put both country music and rap music into the genre of Crap music.

it looks like, you dont cleanup your Subsonic after uninstall. (The Uninstaller dont clean all stuff) To do so, delete also the C:\Subsonic folder to delete Database and subsonic.properties file.
Your Install use http://localhost:453 and this is not default from the installer.

If you install a "REAL" fesh install you have as default Subsonic on port 4040, so I suspect a mixed installation.

Hope this help you!

Best regards

I am deleting the C:\Subsonic folder, just like always. I scan through the registry, %ProgramFiles%, and %ProgramFiles(x86)% as well...to delete anything that would happen to be there. Once installed, before ever opening a browser, I stop the service, set my RAM usage to 512, and change my port to 453...start the service, and load it up in a browser. I will give it another try, and make sure I didn't leave any files...and not change the default port.

Ive noticed one other thing thats kinda strange and was wondering if this was normal.

On the left pane if you look for an artist (listing by id3 tag) and click them. you will get 1 album of the many an artist has instead of on the right pane loading a list of their albums. For instance if I click 'clawfinger' I know they have 5+ albums and it'll only show the first album as if there was only one :/ . I've tried it with multiple artists , so its not just a fluke that clawfinger is bugged.

Ive tried it on the original subsonic install and this one.... they both do the same. Maybe theres something ive missed in the options? or is this something that is being worked on (in progress)..

thx.

Awesome mod. Thanks so much. The Subsonic Url under Settings -> Network isn't working or maybe I am misinterpreting it. Does this mod not support a forward subsonic domain URL (ie - http://you.subsonic.org)?

Hi people,

First thanks to MadEvil for this awesome mod.

I was using build 3016 since a few weeks on a debian squeeze.

Today I wanted to updated to last build but I have been faced with same issue than jdubso.

jdubso wrote:I tried to do an upgrade from Build 3016 to 3020. Got the error message below. Tried doing a clean install and received the same error. Then downgraded from java 1.7.05 to 1.6.32 and attempted another clean install and received the same error message on install. Any advice?

Code: Select all

   at com.exe4j.runtime.WinLauncher.main(Unknown Source)

Except that I am on a debian squeeze (he is on windows if I am not wrong).
It may be a neeb question, but how can I use the last build which needs Java 1.7 which is not available on debian stable? Am I stucked?? :-(

Thanks for your help

using 3026 from release date up to today with java 1.7.05 on a fresh and clean install without any problems - everything worked really good!

Today - starting FF updated to 15 Beta 1 i got 2 popup Errors:

Code: Select all
$("scanningStatus").hide ist not a function

clicking ok appears a second one:

Code: Select all
clearDiv.hide is not a function

using F5 to actualize appears the same Error - after clicking those 2 Popups away everything works normal...

i'm not guilty - i only use it, i swear!

I'm running this on Windows 7 Pro 64bit with both the 32 and 64bit versions of java 7.0.5 installed. I uninstalled 4.6 and installed the latest version of this mod as of today and also tried installing the latest beta of subsonic and then installing the mod over the top. Either way I get Java errors, most notably in the left most pane where artists are listed. The error is below. I would love to be able to use this mod! Any help would be deeply appreciated as I know nothing of debugging or troubleshooting Java outside of merely uninstalling and re-installing. I've followed the mini-guide on how to clear the jetty folder and have cleared my browser cache on every attempt to get it to work. It does the same thing in all three major browsers; Chrome 20, IE 9 and the latest Firefox.

EDIT: I got it! I guess the last time I started fresh I forgot to delete the c:/subsonic folder. Sorry guys I feel a little stupid right now. I uninstalled everything, deleted the subsonic folder on the root of c:/ and re-installed just the modded .exe from here and it works great.

@btnt533

That's in the first post, madevil suggested to install ONLY the mod, everything is included, and you have to do it from scratch.

System info:
OS: Ubuntu 12.04 Server
Java: 1.7u5
Subsonic: 4.7beta2
Subsonic memory: 512MB
Subsonic user: subsonic (created as a system user)

All right I have banged my head against the wall for the last 3+ hours trying to get this Mod to work, clearly I'm not having any luck. Currently I'm stuck at a point where a clean install is fine until I stop the service and overwrite the three files in /usr/share/subsonic/ (subsonic.sh, subsonic.war, subsonic-booter...). Then I lose the left sidebar! I've double check permissions and even moved stuff to local folders and none of it seems to make a difference. If I remove all of the media folders the error msg in the sidebar disappears. The error message is a "bad SQL grammar" one that has been posted up a couple of times already. Help me! I would really love to get some of these upgrades/mods but this is the first time I've tried to do this with subsonic so I'm stumbling around a bit.

-Thanks

Absolutely LOVING this! Can I make a request?

Is there anyway to hook up the fetching of lyrics? For example, fetch the lyrics for a track or album and then store them in the same directory as the track(s) or embed them in the tags?

Hello @ all,

Sorry for the long delay. I was on family vacation and get a swimmers ear from diving. )c;= So it will be take a few days before I get home.

Then I will investigate all requests and problems, also I make a new build system for the deb and rpm packages to prevent java errors in the future.

Meanwhile Sindre make a lot of changes and fixes, so I will also merge all beta3 changes into the mod.

Best regards,

Okay. I am starting with a fresh install of everything OS, Subsonic, this MOD and I'm still running into trouble....I'm going to do it all over again just to make sure I didn't miss something or whatever.

-Right now as it stands I've the following setup:

Ubuntu 12.04 64bit server (running in a VM if that matters)
Subsonic 7.4beta
Mashup MOD 4.7 (lastest build)

Granted this time everything seemed to go smoothly with the install and I was actually sitting at the log in screen. Got in with the normal defaults....now if I try and do much of anything it just drops me right back at the log in screen. So frustrating.

But, I'll blow out the VM and start over!

EDIT: Restarted my Ubuntu server and now Subsonic won't start at all it just gets hung on the fact that it can not find/get the theme it wants "MadSonic_dark". The more I try, the less I seem to understand with this thing....Should I just run this on an apache server or something? How do I get the theme/skin? In the first post what are the links to the base system and combined version for??? So many questions....Yet I read post after post about how much people love this MOD...I must just be stupid or something.

Hi,

tomorrow I will start to make a new dep and rpm package. Also make new VM build machines to check all install problem. It's impotant to clean all old installation files before restart. Browser cache can be also a problem. in the past i saw this problem with themes too.
