Firefox + FLAC = Flash Crashing

As the title says in Firefox when I play FLAC files through the web interface flash crashes. I have everything fully updated fully. I have tried starting Firefox in safe mode with all addons disabled. Then I manually disabled all plugins but flash and flash still crashes in Firefox. I have no problem playing FLAC in Chrome of IE, but I mainly use Firefox. I experience this problem on multiple computers. All of them are Windows 7 64bit Pro PCs. The server is running 4.7beta3 on a headless Ubuntu 12.04 server. I'm Fairly certain it is not a transcoding problem due to it playing in Chrome and IE fine, but I could be wrong there. Has anyone ever experienced this and any idea on how to fix it?

Odd one that np playing flac with FF & vista 32
As far as the web player (JW Player) is concerned it is only playing an mp3 so I don't know what could be causing an issue.

It happens on multiple computers too. Mine at home & both my computers at work and my wife's laptop all have the same problem. I am not sure what is causing this issue. It sometimes throws an unresponsive script error when it crashes:

One thing I tried is log into the demo account on the subsonic.org site to see if it was my server or my Firefox causing the issues, but the demo server has only .mp3 files...

If anyone would be willing to supply me login credentials to a server with some FLAC files on it I would be much appreciative so I can test if it is my Firefox.

After trying to get this issue sorted out I have made a few more observations. When trying to play a FLAC file the little bar that shows how far along you are in the song and how far the song is buffered changes from a light gray to a dark gray like the song is instantly fully buffered.

Also plugin-container.exe starts to use 700,000k memory and 15% CPU before it crashes.

Also I have set up subsonic in a virtual win xp pro pc and with firefox playing FLAC off my real server it crashes firefox, but with the subsonic install on the virtual pc FLAC does not cause Firefox to crash out... It seem to me it is something in the way it transcodes?? I am not sure why it would play back in Chrome and IE fine but not Firefox if it is a transcoding problem tho...

Anyone have any ideas what to do/try next?

ughh.... I have now completely uninstalled subsonic and reinstalled... When playing FLAC in Firefox flash still crashes....

Leaving me to believe it is a Firefox/Flash issue
I guess I just use Chrome for time being.....

Fixed it. It was the 'threads' switch for ffmpeg. I had to remove the threads switch all together...& it seems to be working now.

I can also confirm that playing FLAC files is crashing Firefox/Flash on my Ubuntu 12.04 desktop as well...

Chromium however works....

My setup:
Server - Ubuntu 12.04 headless server
Subsonic- 4.7beta3
Client- Firefox


Problem:
When trying to stream a FLAC file to Firefox from my server the song starts to play and just begins skipping and then after about 30 seconds it is at the 1-4 second mark on the song and Firefox/Flash crash. On all tested PCs steaming FLAC to Firefox causes the crash, Chrome, IE, Safari do not crash when streaming FLAC only Firefox crashes.


What it affects: (I have tested FLAC streaming on all of these computers and all present the same problem)
Work PC - Windows 7 64bit Ultimate, Firefox v14 + v15 + v16 (tried to reinstall Firefox as up to date and beta and aurora), Tried Flash downgrading to flash 10 and tried with flash 11
Home PC- Win 7 64bit Ultimate, Firefox v16, Flash 11
2nd Work PC- Win 7 64bit Ultimate Firefox v14, Flash 11
Home Linux PC- Ubuntu 12.04 Desktop, Firefox12, Flash 11.2
Home PC 2- Windows XP Pro 32bit, Firefox 14, Flash 11
Virtual PC- Win XP Pro 32bit, Firefox 14,Flash 11

**All PCs tested on play FLAC fine in Chrome, IE, and Safari**


What I have done to try and fix the issue:
I have deleted my subsonic install and re-installed subsonic (2 times).
Removed the symbolic links and copied the transcoders in the '/var/subsonic/transcode/' directory.


Other Information:
All transcode settings are still set at default.
I have set up a subsonic server on my virtual Windows XP pro and it does not have any issues streaming FLAC...

I'm guessing that Linux version of ffmpeg is producing something that chokes Flash on Firefox.

If possible, can you try to upgrade to a newer version of ffmpeg and see if that helps?

I currently have the latest ffmpeg installed. I have tried the version that is on by default and the newest downloaded version. Neither work.
