at first wanna say thank you mad evil for the new version....(3084)

deleted c:\subsonic and backuped subsonic.properties as you recommended.

clean install, recopied subsonic.properties:
this does'nt save added folders, neither the welcome messages: where ist this stored?

the Subsonic Core Settings are saved in the subsonic.properties
the subsonic Content folder are save in the database

in changelog appears fix of : "now playing is null" - this still appears!!!!

it should be fix by sindre, but isn't in your case.
Is this File in the root folder? You can try to put this file in a subfolder.
Has this files any Tags? What kind of file is it?

after rescanning i have roundabout 1000 Artists less, estimated time is half...album/songs seems to be correct.

Sinde has updated some Statistics function in the beta3, i will check this. i saw this on my own library, maybe a new bug.

Can't find it in General.....this is a important feature...would be nice to implement it.

I change this in this Mod, this works different to the original version, because in general the media-file sorting comparator doesn't work well.
This Mod is working with Mediatypes. Maybe i will expand this feature with year sorting.

You can try if this is working for you, it can be configured for each folder.

Mediatype override:

Multiartist = sorted by foldername
Artist = sorted by year

if i have to do so it would keep me busy for a lot hours....(have 8 mainfolders with 112 subgenres) entire 2TB

Now i got it, after updating to 3086 on a cleaned FF15 "now playing is null" still there. Only on Browser start or restart.
maybe i need to report this separately.

Ok, now i understand your sorting question. This Mod is perfect for ARTIST\ALBUM\TRACK structure, and not if you have many sub-subfolder.
I will check the possibilities to adapt the sort function for other folder structures.

This 2 problem are from the last beta 3 trunk. i have checked, i've lost also over 5000 artist (in the statistics) with the last beta 3 build.

I've been watching the progress of this version and now being pretty happy with 4.7b3 I thought I'd give it a try. I have a site running on Server 08 Webserver version running in Hyper-V that has been running fine using the WAR vesion with Tomcat 6.0.

I attempted to switch to your latest WAR (20120807_subsonic-MashupMod-4.7.beta3_B3090-war.zip) twice without getting it to run. I just get the Tomcat screen saying it can't connect. Reinstalling the 4.7b3 from Subsonic comes right up. I've done this several times and know the procedure for installing the WAR, but I haven't had any success with your most recent release. I'd really like to give it a try if you can help me identify what's going wrong.

EDIT: Does your version look for a specific port number? I'm on 8099 and have never had to change anything when dropping a new WAR into webapps. I tried 4040 on the local browser, no joy.

Tomact responds HTTP Status 404- The requested resource () is not available.

If I drop the 4.7b3 release from SS back in, everything comes right up. I've repeated the process 3 times just to make sure I'm not just forgetting a step. Same result each time.

I did notice that you have a batch file in the zip package, that I did not run. I have too many instances of SS running on multiple servers to go that route if that is what is required to get this version running. That would imply that I would have to edit each batch file for each instance rather than just dropping in the new WAR. If that's the case, this won't be practical in my environment as I upgrade and test too often to add another step to the process. It's one of the reasons I'm always a bit skeptical of getting too deep into mods. I would like to try this, but only if it can be done as easily as switching back and forth between WAR versions as it is with the standard releases.

Hi Gary,

i test the last Build with the tomcat and found the bug, because i used a security filter that crash the JDBC driver, so the whole start up messed up.
With removing this filter it works again on my tomcat 6.0 test server.

Thanks for the quick reply. It's loading, but the left column is showing a java error and it's not displaying albums in the main window, probably due to the Java error. It's a org.framework.jdk Exception, but I can't read much more than that from the left column error display as the scroll bar is not available at the bottom to read the rest of the msg.

I'll did an uninstall and then a clean install of Java and SS but did not delete C:\Subsonic

Restart shows popup "Message from webpage" Object doesn't support property or method 'addEventListner'

Let me know if ther are any specific Tomcat or Subsonic logs you need to help.

EDIT: Deleting C:\Subsonic fixed it. I'll start testing! I'm hoping I can copy the saved C:\Subsonic db and get all the settings back.

Hi,

This errors happen if you use the original DB structure and then upgrade to the Mashup-Mod.
Because i extended the table schema and only the replacement of the war file will not migrate the db-structure.

That issue happen to many people in the past.

so i repeat for all other tester:

Before install this Mod, Cleanup your C:\Subsonic or /var/subsonic folder. This helps a lot before you got crazy with Errors and Popups.

You can copy most of the lines from the old db.script to the new db.script. (Ratings, User, Settings,...)

Nice. I think I've got it all working now. I only copied my old transcode directory files into the new folder and rebuilt from scratch and it seems to be goung well.

One of the big attractions for me trying this mod was the variable settings for the number of albums to display on the main/random display. One feature I've asked fo several times is to make this setting "Sticky" so that it doesn't keep resetting to the default. If you can add that you'd get my vote for man of the year on the SS forum and a willing donation to your Paypal acct.

Thanks again for the hard work.

Can't wait to test with the Android app - I'm using Subphonic and will start testing that soon. Again - GREAT WORK!

The player control buttons disappear when using the Back to Black theme, which of course is my favorite.

No scroll bars on the left side.

Can't scroll left column or jump to letter sections in IE 9. Scrolling and jump to alpha sections work in Chrome, but there is no left scroll bar. Scrolling only available through mouse wheel for the left column.

So cool - Frames can be resized in IE 9 - but not in Chrome.

This is another feature I've been hoping to see since I first started using SS. I've also notice that frame resizing works in IE10 on my Win 8 test box.

I'd love to see thin borders between the frames that can be resized on all versions and platforms. Lists the folders, but not the files. Only shows the cover art in each folder. .wtv works fine on my other 4.7b3 sites. In earlier versions I used to have to edit one of the jsp files to get wtv recognized as a video file, but I don't recall having to do that in the later versions.

I did it like this. I added my new, own database schemas to DaoHelper to have them executed at start-up:
