Browsing sort order still buggered (4.7.beta3 (build 3060))

Postby fileoffset » Tue Aug 07, 2012 10:46 am

I've just upgraded to the latest beta.

The browsing issue, where it sorts by date instead of by folder name is still apparent. The only thing that seems to have changed, is it is now in reverse order, with the oldest year on top.

I thought this would be a relatively minor issue, fixed easily - or perhaps it was overlooked?

I have 'Year' unticked in my Personal profile, for both playlist and browsing.

This is a surprisingly annoying bug, I can't find any options that affect it. Does anyone else have a fix for this?

So have you unticked sort albums by year in settings/general :?

Due to the confusion from too many genres of music, we have decided to put both country music and rap music into the genre of Crap music.

Hello,

I've also just upgraded to the latest beta version (4.7 beta 3, build 3060) and I also notice that the sorting is messed... even after choosing NOT to sort by date in the settings... I'll have to revert to my previous version (4.6 for OSX) until this gets fixed - sorry, but the sorting issue may be a small point, but at times can get irritating, specially with large folders. Thanks the ongoing effort and work into this amazing application.

Yep!

I do love this application and it is a minor bug but I was oh-so hoping that it would be fixed in the latest beta. I may have to download the source and fix it myself!

I confirm this behavior!

Just added 21 albums of Steve Earle (wonderful Americana!), and gave the folders names like 1986 - Guitar Town 'till 2009 - Townes.

The order in Subsonic:

Hi guys,

I have found a workaround until the option is added into the options properly:

1. Open your subsonic properties file, mine was called
subsonic/subsonic.properties

2. Add the following property (unless it already exists):
Code: Select all
SortAlbumsByYear=false

4. Save and exit
5. Reboot subsonic

The not quite right sorting has been noted and is due to those particular albums being multiple cd albums.

I had Sort albums by year selected. Deselecting didn't change the album order.
Somehow Subsonic remembers the folder sequence prior to the deselecting.

However, I added a lot of Jobim albums to my collection. I did that after I deselected Sort albums by year; those albums are in perfect order.

It seems that the order problem is false alarm.....
