Subsonic 4.7.beta3 released

A new nitpick to report. When you click on the name of a song in the playlist, or in any of the 'action' links along the top of the playlist frame (such as prev/next), the frame jumps to the beginning of the playlist, which is rather annoying. Seems to me that there is a "return false;" missing somewhere. Tested with latest Firefox.

My users are reporting this as well.

Beta 3 seems to have found my previous playlists automatically however when I add songs to them and save them, at some point overnight the songs i added get removed. i'm guessing that the play list files are getting re-imported again.

I installed 4.7.beta3 and got Error 503... So reading from passed posts, I renamed my db folder and reinstalled the update. I copied in the files from the old db hoping that I would save my users, but no luck. I was able to point to my music and start a scan. It is pretty quick for the amount I have [867GB]. Now I'm building my users - no biggie at least I have my Subsonic back!

I got this error:

I am running Subsonic on an Amahi Homeserver. Any idea where I can find the db folder and how to save playlists? Or is this going to be fixed with an update on the next beta?

I tried the suggestion by WIL and what happened is that now I can log oin remotely again but Subsonic tells me that my media folders are empty or "No media folders found. Please change the settings.". This is absolute bogus! All the data is in there so now I don't know what I could do to fix that...

Maybe too simple, but sometimes things are simple: did you check the settings, i.e. the right path to the media folders? Here no trouble at all. Path remained, users were saved.
My path, which points to a network folder looks like this: \\NasLite-11\Disk-2\Music

What is weird (and significant IMHO) that the behavior of the new install seems so unpredictable. Could it be that a Windows install causes less problems then a Linux or Unix install? Apart from some minor problems (sometimes slow M3U upload to the player, but not always; some strange transcoding behavior - maybe connected) everything works - without having to fix anything. I am still using Windows XP SP3.

So beta 3 brought us HLS. The problem is that i don't have any iDevice so i can't test it out. Should it work by itself or are there any dependencies? I have some iPad users who have tried to watch video clips but everyone still gets the "flash player required" in the browser and audio only (and a black screen) in the app SubStream.
I found the transcoding string in the transcoding settings that says ffmpeg -ss %o -t %d -i %s -async 1 -b %bk -s %wx%h -ar 44100 -ac 2 -v 0 -f mpegts -vcodec libx264 -preset superfast -acodec libmp3lame -threads 0 -

Would appreciate any help!

What is weird (and significant IMHO) that the behavior of the new install seems so unpredictable. Could it be that a Windows install causes less problems then a Linux or Unix install? Apart from some minor problems (sometimes slow M3U upload to the player, but not always; some strange transcoding behavior - maybe connected) everything works - without having to fix anything. I am still using Windows XP SP3.

I will send my log-file to Sindre and hope he can see what is causing this strange behaviour.

Very strange...I just went into my server and did the folder setup there and now it worked...it is being scanned properly.

Beta 3 seems to have found my previous playlists automatically however when I add songs to them and save them, at some point overnight the songs i added get removed. i'm guessing that the play list files are getting re-imported again.

Never mind. I just realized i have 45 playlists now because every time i add a song and "save as playlist" its creating a new playlist, which is completely different than before.

I have noticed that the browser seems reluctant to display album art on occasions.
Not sure whether its due to browser cache issues or SS slow in creating the art thumbnails.
After a few browser refreshes I can usually get the art to display but it does seem to be worse with 4.7 then 4.6.

If you have a folder called 'Avant Garde Project', and in that folder is a sub-folder called 'Ondes Martenot' which contains three cd's in separate folders, no JPG is shown in the 'Avant Garde Project' listing. Even if you put a JPG in the root of the folder 'Ondes Martenot', no JPG is shown in the listing.

That means that Subsonic does not 'see' the three cd's hidden in the 'Ondes Martenot' folder, but also discards the JPG in the root of the folder. Probably because there's no music file in that root.

In previous versions, the deep link was absent as well, but Subsonic did show a picture in the root folder.

Hope this gets repaired....
