Error preventing Subsonic from working [Resolved]

Hey everyone. First off, I want to say that I have had subsonic working for over a year now without issue and it works with my android phone and tablet.

I just started getting the following error and cannot get subsonic to register in any capacity. The tray icon has the following message regardless of what I try.

org.mortbay.util.MultiException[java.net.BindException: Address already in use: bind, java.net.BindException: Address already in use: JVM_Bind]

I have googled the error code and have not found a definitive starting point for fixing the problem. I have paid and have my own registered subsonic subdomain that has been working for sometime without issue. I also checked the router to ensure that multiple instances of subsonic were not running on different ports.

I am out of ideas and would greatly appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks!

The address you specified is being used by someone / something else. Try a different subsonic.org address.

Thanks for the quick reply, Ytechie. I did a bit more searching on google and found out that it was a port issue. My android tablet connects for ftp transfer on a specific port which was the manual port that I had setup for subsonic. I changed the port on subsonic and my router and we are all good now.

Hate to bump old threads, but I'm getting this error now. It happened while I was away from the house, and was working fine up until then. I've changed the port to a few others, which changed the error now to,

Address already in use. Please change port number.

But I get this no matter what port I change it to on the router/control panel.

Any ideas? :/

Nada, tried it the first time around. Although the https access worked, so it was definitely a port issue.

But I've since installed the new 4.7 build and it fixed my issue, so we're all set.

But of course now my Subsonic Android app doesn't connect. But maybe I should make a new thread for that. :/
