ok, seems to be working now... removed it again, then deleted the /var/subsonic folder and reinstalled.

Had to re-do the whole "change admin password" again, but at least it's scanning everything now.

Edit: OK, seems to be working great, except for one thing - the Carousel mod. I click "Hot" and it will show me the "Loading", right, and left arrows, but fails to show any cover art. Any ideas on this? (Had similar problem before installing Mashup with the same mod...)

hi,
this is changed since Build 3100 viewtopic.php?f=8&t=9187&start=195#p45124

Now you can tag your own favorite albums without linked to Top Rated albums.

Hope this help you.

User error... sheesh... lol

Is this new feature "per user", or is it "overall" (meaning anyone can select an album as a hot item and everyone will see it as a hot item?)

hi,
at the moment it is general for all users without restriction, but it could be packed to an server role.

Hi All,

I have another question on the 'Radio" tab, I have just gone through and refined my genre tags for my music collection however within the 'Radio' area the genre's have not updated to reflect these changes. I have re-scanned & cleaned the database to no avail, should I just delete the database and start fresh?

Try clearing the cache first. That seems to fix some of the problems I have experienced...

Cache is located in: Subsonic/Jetty/3112/jsp/org/apache/jsp (starting location depends on OS - for Linux it's /var/subsonic, not sure on other OS's - maybe C:\subsonic ?)

Delete (or simply rename) the folder called WEB_002dINF. (I renamed my to *.old)

The folder will regenerate as soon as you refresh Subsonic in the browser.

I gave this a shot, the folder/file did rebuild however the genre listing is still incorrect. Any others ideas?

Here is a screenshot, the genre's selected (yellow) are ones incorrect genre's that do not exist in my music collection anywhere.

I went ahead and deleted & rebuilt my database, that fixed it.

Hi, and thank you very much for your work !
I don't understand the expression "work as design". ^^
Do you intend to make a .subsonic.org compatible version of your mod in the future, like you did with the 4.6 ?

Is there a working trick to use a subsonic.org server ?

Thanks for your answer !

GJ51 wrote:Actually, the redirect service will work if you do a few extra steps. I switched to the WAR version a while back once Bushman4 convinced me I wasn't too old to learn new tricks.

If you install Subsonic using the standard release and register the server.subsonic.org address, then change over to your modded setup and use the same port it'll work. I did that a few months ago when I started using the Mashup mod and never noticed that it was an issue.

Gary found this workaround! Maybe this can help.

Tricks for Scanning

Initial Scan - This is the first scan of all media files found in your libary

Delta Scan - scheduled libary Scan to detect changes

Full Rescan - Full Rescan easy trick

  • go to Media folder Settings
  • Disable each Music folder (this switch the entrys to Offline)
  • Save Settings
  • Make a Full Mediascan
  • Re-enable each Music folder to rescan
  • Save Settings
  • Make a Full Mediascan
  • (Clean-up Database)!?

this triggers a Full Rescan of the Metadata - You don't lost any User, Settings, Ratings

But carefully with the Database Clean-up!

This function cleanups all your old refferal to offline media so you lost the refferenc to the media files IDs!

if you Disable your mediafolders -> Save Settings -> Make a Rescan -> make Cleanup DB then the old
mediafile entrys will be deleted. This mean with the next scan, your mediafiles get new ids and you LOST
any Playlist, Rating, Starred, PlayCounts and Coments with the new media files IDs!!

Keep this in mind!

Outstanding! You guys make a great team. I just started testing Music Cabinet and like it's features too.

Kudos for all you guys are doing taking Subsonic to new levels of functionality. I'll test the upgrade on my last remaining 4.6 site and let you know how it goes.

Thanks again - I'm getting that irresistable urge to donate again.

TRULY OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just did an upgrade of my last standard 4.6 site (at least I think it's the last one, I'm starting to forget where they all are) and the upgrade was FLAWLESS.

Ran the setup.exe, edited the service account permissions and that was it - took about 2 mins. and it was up and running without a hitch.

Great job.

The only minor bug I still have is resizing in Chrome when it's at anything other than 100% zoom, but that's truly minor and pretty easy to work around.

Thank$ for all your efforts. Truly appreciated.

Best regards,

Gary J
