It sounds like you should rather run a query analyzer and see how the database executes the "starred" sql question, though? I'd guess it's doing a full table scan or something.

With the Madsonic Back in Black Theme a few pages load too far over.
It happens on the home page and playing but other pages load and are not too far over. Check the screen shots...any ideas on how to move those pages over?

Hello !

I do have a simple question related to the version of Java needed.

On my NAS (Synology 1511+), I cannot install Java 7 so I'm still using v6.
According the first page (Build with: JDK 1.7.07/JDK 1.6.32/JDK 1.6.24), I would like to have a confirmation this package work correctly with v1.6.32/24.

Do anybody can confirm this ?

Yeah, I see it now. there is a bit of lag. I can see if you have a large number of starred items then the lag time might become very noticeable. I'll work on adding more stars to see how it behaves.

I also think that for some reason, selecting "Starred" from the home screen bar (just to the right of "Random") seems to respond more quickly that clicking the icon at the top.

Mine did this in the standard version until I went to 4.7 proper. I'm surprised to see 3125SE STILL the Beta 3 under the hood.

dig into and replaced some query with more optimized readings, should work now really better!

I love your Mashup Mod, and was using your 4.6 version and tried most builds through the 4.7 beta. All has been great, but I am having two little quirks that are annoying.

First, is streaming FLAC files. This problem happens over LAN or WAN, so it's not a bandwidth issue, but if I click a FLAC file, it won't start playing automatically. I have to skip the track ahead a few seconds, and then it will start playing. Once that track is done and it goes to the next, it doesn't start playing automatically either.

Second, if I sign in and check the box to keep me signed in, and then close my browser and go back into it later that day, I will have to log out and back in before anything will play. Before logging back out and back in, I would click to add a track, but it just wouldn't add.

Neither of these have caused any logs out of the ordinary, and I was hoping that it would end up being fixed in the final build, but it's not. I love your mods, but these bugs are enough that I can't use mashup mod. Thoughts?

Also, I have been using MadSonic too...and it works pretty good. I have also been using DSub, which is another forked Android app, so I am following both. I am hoping to see native video streaming in the app, instead of opening a browser...since Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) officially does NOT support flash, meaning I cannot stream videos from the app. I think a HTML5 player in MadSonic would be awesome, and I'm sure you could easily sell that for a couple bucks. It's a shame that I have to run SubSonic, plex, and TVMobili to have all my content available at all times, and if you could do a HTML5 player in the app...yeah, that would rock.

EDIT: Guess I should add that my SubSonic runs on a Server 2008 R2 VM, with 6 logical cores and 2-4GB of RAM. Resource-wise, I have never had an issue transcoding 1080p DTS MKVs in a browser, so I am sure I have enough power to transcode a FLAC file.

This mod is default compiled with java SDK 1.7_07, if you can't install it.
I made a Build revert and compiled the lastest version with Java SDK 1.6_35,
now this version should work with your Java 1.6/NAS installation -> Build 3130SE.

TYI: Madsonic Mashup Mod works only with self hosted domain, the redirecting service from *.subsonic.org isn't working! (Work as Design)

Do you intend to make a .subsonic.org compatible version of your mod in the future, like you did with the 4.6 ?

Actually, the redirect service will work if you do a few extra steps. I switched to the WAR version a while back once Bushman4 convinced me I wasn't too old to learn new tricks.

If you install Subsonic using the standard release and register the server.subsonic.org address, then change over to your modded setup and use the same port it'll work. I did that a few months ago when I started using the Mashup mod and never noticed that it was an issue.

Actually, this workaround seems to be linked to the subsonic.properties file, which contains your xxxx.subsonic.org server informations (licence key, email adress, date of activation...). When you install the original subsonic, and then the madsonic one, this file is keeped.

This came from the default interface, there is no 4.8 beta1 tag out. so if sindre tag one new beta, there you can see this.

Getting Flac files to run properly is always a bit of a challenge in any version or variant of Subsonic, especially vbr files that have unexpected settings. I get the best results by setting up a seperate transcode definition for Flac files and using the ffmpeg file extravted from version 4.4 of Subsonic. I've renamed it "Audioffmpeg" so that you can call it only for use with Flac files. I suppose you could also call it Flacffmpeg if you want so that you know what it's doing.

You can download it from my Skydrive if you'd like to try it to see if it helps:

Download and place the file in the transcode subdirectory.
Remove flac from the "mp3 audio" Convert from string
Create a new entry unde Add Transcoding
Flac > mp3 | flac | mp3 | Audioffmpeg -i %s -ab %bk -v 0 -f mp3 -

You'll then be using this version of ffmpeg to handle the flac transcodings. It has worked for me in the past for some difficult files. If you still have problems, I'd suggest doing some searches for "Stozher transcodings" - he had some custom transcodings for flac files that worked for many users.

I just did the 313SE upgrade = works dandy - starred pops up quick!

I run on Java 1.7.05 without any issues. There were some 4.7 beta releases that had issues with Java 1.7 but I don't think any variant of Subsonic had any trouble related to running on Java 6.
