artwork not shown

Hi all

I love this piece of software, but I got a problem. Recently updated to latest java version (1.6) on windows vista (both server and client) and no artwork is shown.
Log file has a lot of lines such this one:
WARN CoverArtController Failed to create thumbnail for /shares/music/music/A/Aerosmith/77055.jpg

any suggestion?

Please have a look at c:/subsonic/subsonic.log to get more detailed information about the error.

Same issue -

Version 3.6 (build 806) – February 1, 2009
Server jetty-6.1.x, java 1.5.0_16, Mac OS X (38.1 MB / 63.6 MB)

Running for 24 hours, with 4 users having connected to it on/off. Total of 9 different "players" in the drop-down box. (Only used subsonic for the past day or so... not really sure why there's so many).

Anyway.

I see a bunch of these in my subsonic.log:

java.lang.Exception: Unable to decode image.
at net.sourceforge.subsonic.controller.CoverArtController.getCachedImage(CoverArtController.java:142)

This is an .mp3 file. Why is it trying to decode it as an image? (Note: I changed actual album/track names to <value> to protect the innocent).

Subsequently, it starts to puke and spew this error message repeatedly:

java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

This is all despite the jvm heap showing as (38.1 MB / 63.6 MB) in the status window.

Last point of note... /Volumes/Volume_1 is a samba share from my NAS. But it's a persistent connection so I don't think that should be an issue.

[Xarias]

I'm at a loss-All of the sudden in Subsonic in the "Welcome to Subsonic" page no album art shows up.
I've uninstalled it, reinstalled it.
Nothing.
It suddenly will not find any songs in the search option

If I click the artist on the left the art shows up.
It also no longer shows the total amount of songs, time to play them, etc.

I even went back to the previous version of Java and it did nothing.
I'm at a loss.

Weird man. Just weird.
Opened it up this morning and everything was showing up just fine.
Bizarre.

Xarias, I had the same problem after changing the location of my music folder: no art on the welcome page, but art loads fine on artist pages.
I think the reason it probably "mysteriously" worked for you the next morning is that you may have it set to automatically update your search index overnight. and I believe the artwork on the welcome page depends on that search index...
just fyi for anyone else who may be having the same problem (esp. after changing the location of your music folder). try an index update.
