LDAP authentication not working

HI,

First off, I really like the last.fm enabled subsonic great work!

My 'normal' subsonic setup uses LDAP to authenticate users, when using the same settings with musiccabinet it doesn't work in fact I don't see any LDAP request going to my LDAP server, is this expected to work?

It's not expected to work. I rewrote the login mechanism a while ago (for the initial 0.7 release), since Subsonic by default stores passwords in cleartext, and I wanted to upgrade that to store them as salted hash sums.

If there is a large demand for LDAP support, I could look into adding it, but you're the first person to ask for it so I guess it's not a very common setup.

I do hope this might get looked at in future releases. I was just about to install to test out as I saw there was the ability to search and edit composer tags which would be ideal for our needs. We too use LDAP and have around 800 active users listening to 130,000+ tracks per year.

I'd also like to see LDAP authentication working. I just spent about half an hour troubleshooting it before finding this thread...
