music is being downloaded/cached to my Android phone

I saw this post, but they did not mention as to whether caching music on phone uses more data on top of simply just streaming music. Since I limited to 2GB of data per month I don't want Subsonic downloading/caching music to my phone, which I assume uses more data on top of just streaming the music?

You assume wrongly - its the same
Cached just means that the music that has been streamed is saved to phone memory rather then discarded.

ok, so just to be clear...whatever is cached to the phone is the same data used for streaming? I do believe you, but what are your sources?

Yes, that is correct.

Our sources are multiple years using and volunteering our time to help support this product. That and the ability to read the source code of the application and see what it is doing.
