Does somebody here still have the same issues?

Subsonic - 2061 Albumartists

Foobar - 4013 Albumartists

Subsonic - 8818 Albums

Foobar - 11344 Albums

Sunbsonic - 90667 Songs correct.

988,13 GB (~ 7.876 Hours) This MUST be wrong!

Still java popups, various errors

jetty-6.1.x, java 1.7.0_09, Windows 7 (64,6 MB / 192,0 MB)

due hardware changes (SSD) fresh and clean install, still the same rrors as before on 4.7

foobar supports every imaginable tagging standard under the sun. it also used to (not sure if it still does) write id3v2.4 tags by default. this is the latest tagging standard, but it is unsupported by many players like itunes for whatever reason. android does not support id3v2.4. it also does not support, as far as i know, songs that are tagged with multiple versions. e.g. something can be written with id3v2.4 and id3v2.3 for compatibility; this would be readable by itunes, but not android.

tl;dr: try retagging some files in foobar and force id3v2.3 and remove any id3v2.4 or id3v1 tags. i had problems with this under google music and figured out this was the problem. since subsonic now looks at tags, i'm sure it is vulnerable to the same limitations.

It's most likely related to the problem I'm having where 4.7 sorts by ID3 tag instead of filename. If you don't have Disc Number or Track Number assets in your ID3 tag for that song, it will fail and fall back to sorting alphabetically. I would just try and revert it back to filename sorting but I'm assuming that's quite a big deal :/

Is there a quick fix to force sorting (and display) using the filename ? Some of my albums don't have a track number in the tag and as a result the sorting is alphabetical :-(

my server ran out of disk space, so i had ro reinstall debian squeeze. after installing subsonic, i noticed on my android client that all my artists are mixed up. clicking the beatles pulls up the albums from another artists. those albums play correctly, but the are all filed under the wrong artist names.

i think this would probably get fixed if i reinstalled the subsonic app on android, but i figured i'd post here first in case you want me to run any tests or copy any log files. since the server was installed fresh, and seems to be organized fine when i visit through the browser, this must be an android problem keeping old information or something.

Sounds like the database "primary key" is referring to how it was set up in the old system, but you are on the new system now.

I would try cleaning the database on Subsonic, and if needed, reinstall the android app afterwards...

Sindre, just wanted to say thank you for 4.7. It is running great for me, with no issues at all around the use of Album Artists or whatever folks are complaining about there. Maybe because I'm absolutely finicky about my FLAC tagging, but everything displays perfectly for me, no Various Artists at all. I have about 1200 albums and everything appears just fine, both my High Rez flac and standard CD-quality flac. Movies as well are working fine with cover art finally, now that I've employed the use of "cover.png" inside of every Movie sub-folder. I even use an "Internet TV/Radio link" to a Quicktime Streaming Server instance I run on another Mac here, for displaying a live video feed of my HD camera, monitoring the house.

I felt so impressed by 4.7 that I gave another donation, and will gladly do so again down the road. This is truly amazing software, and has allowed me to reap the rewards of my longtime collection/archival of music/movies. Cheers to you as always, keep up the great work!
Subsonic 5.2.1 on 2009 Apple XServe w/ Yosemite Server 10.10.5; 96GB RAM. Lots of Music - High Rez, native DSD streaming, and otherwise.

Anyone know if that ever got fixed? If not is there any risk going back to an older version that was purely file based? Thanks!
