Samsung Galaxy S2
Rooted
Clean install of jellybam 20121107 (http://www.igio90.net/device/samsung-galaxy-s2-i9100/)

When I install subsonic and/or dsub, it crashes immediately. No error nothing.

Anyone any idea what might be wrong or how to find out?

Also, you may want to try clearing the cache for both apps and see if it still crashes.

Yes - that's another issue to consider, did you do a factory reset and clear the cahce and the Dalvik cache prior to installing the new rom? Not doing so can often cause problems.

Hey board admins, can we get a seperate forum for DSub? Nearly 300 posts for one thread is kinda hard to go through if you are wanting to see if something has been asked before.

We should have a seperate subforum for all the mobile apps.

I was asked if I wanted a separate subforum in the mod section and I said no. Didn't realize people wanted one so I just requested to get one after all.

Something tells me that you probably didn't expect for dsub to be so popular when you started so you probably didn't expect to need it...

EdgeKun wrote:Hey guys, posting here for the first time in hopes of finding some help with an issue I've been having. Lately I upgraded to a 2012 Prius (Model Three, if that helps identify the stereo + issue at all) and am having an issue with the Bluetooth stereo controls. I'm running Cyanogen Mod 7, with Android version 2.3.7. (Droid HTC Incredible)

My phone syncs and plays with no problems. When I use the "next track" or "previous track" controls on the steering wheel however, the phone almost seems to disconnect from BT. I've looked at my phone during this, and noticed that the audio tracker continues as if it's still playing music. (But no music is coming out of the car or phone speakers) If I hold the previous or next buttons for a bit to pause / unpause, then it seems to reconnect. (Continuing wherever the music progressed to, not where it cut off at)

I'd also like to note that I've experienced this in both the native Subsonic client as well as DSub. When running the native Android music app or Poweramp, steering wheel track controls seem to work just fine. (Leading me to believe it's an issue with Subsonic, as opposed to my car or my phone's OS + handling of Bluetooth controls)

Aside from that single issue though, loving use of DSub. I especially can't wait for the ID3 Tags over bluetooth. Figured I'd post here to give some praise, as well as see if anybody has encountered a similar issue before. (Mayhaps there's a setting in the car stereo or bluetooth that I simply missed?) Thanks for your time, everyone.

There is a setting to allow media buttons, make sure that is checked. I don't have those issues in my 2013 Mazda running cm10 nightlies on my toro.

Yes, tried all that. It seems to be a problem with the jellybam rom I use.

I don't know what they developed for the SII nor do I know what carrier variant you're on, but I'm using "Wicked Sensations" JB ROM by Dazedandconfused - a member of the TEAM Venom group on XDA. Very clean rom, nicely themed, and very stable.

Might be worth trying if they have a rom for your model.

Installing the JellyBam rom without JellyBam audio pack solved it. Thanks to everyone who had suggestions!

I really miss being able to see the File name and path - used to work with pre-4.7 Subsonic app.

When a song is playing, on the single song page (that has the picture taking up most of the screen space), the Subsonic app used to display the folder name as well as the filename of the song. Is there any way you can add that as an option in the Settings (use/show File and Folder Names in addition to (or instead of) the Title tag) so that much-loved feature can be restored.

Thanks in anticipation!

Yah I've been trying to figure out a good place to put it given limited room. It will be back!

RE: Future Podcast support.

I listen to a lot of podcasts. I tried using Google Listen, but it's really cumbersome and half the time can't make it all the way through the podcast without the audio stopping.

Subsonic's built in podcast support is fairly good. The android apps need a bit of work though. I'd like to see the following:

1. Automatic scheduled downloads of specific podcasts
2. Setting to dictate how many podcasts to maintain on the phone
3. Separate podcast "now-playing" list.
4. Setting for download on wifi-only
5. Setting for how often to look for new podcasts (1 hr, 5 hr, etc...)

I'm was going to look at your code on github shortly as this is something I've wanted to do on the stock one for a long time, but I'm liking your variant a bit better :)

Other thoughts:

1. I don't see a "Pin" option like in Sindre's version. Although, I mostly use it for podcasts... so above may null the need for me.
2. Loading of large playlists. On both app versions, this is very slow and painful. If I compare this to Google music, it's night and day. I have not looked through the API much yet to see if it's a function of the APP or the server, but it would be excellent if the system would load up SOME of the the playlist immediately, while loading the remainder in the background. This gives the illusion that everything works immediately, like it does on G Music. If I load up all the music in my "Hard Rock" folder, it takes quite a few minutes to load and get going. (I have probably 9k songs in that folder alone) Maybe it's faster on other people's systems, as I only have 1Mb Uploads for now.

Thanks for the hard work!

I just found that Dsub has trouble with playlists with a "/" in the playlist name. Not a problem, just switched it to a dash instead, but found it weird that the regular Subsonic App read that playlist when Dsub couldn't... Maybe it's something easy? A very low list priority if at all though. Thanks again for this app, it's great!

This would be great for other parts of the app too, for example albums with a large amount of tracks in them (live shows) or even when building randomized playlists for artists with a large number of albums.
