New playlists empty & Imported playlists: No soungs found

Postby merpcore » Sat Nov 17, 2012 1:21 am

Problem Description:
Everything is working great with the exception of playlists.

I have several m3u playlists from the library I imported that work fine in wmp and ampache. When I try to import them, I get this error:
Code: Select all
Failed to import playlist. No songs in the playlist were found.

Now, I can live without those playlists... they needed work anyway. However, when creating a new playlist from scratch I am unable to add songs! From more actions -> add to playlist -> click playlist, I get the pop-up balloon saying 'playlist updated'. However, when I click on the playlist, it reads "playlist is empty".

Aside from this little issue I am very happy with this software and will gladly send a donation once I get this issue worked out.

Troubleshooting Steps:
I have tried restarting the service, rebooting the machine, and rescanning the media dir. For troubleshooting I am still running subsonic as root, and have recursive 777 permissions on the music directory. Same behavior on admin user and standard. Newly created playlists still exist after service restart.

With regard to importing playlists - you need to make sure the path name in the m3u is the same pathname as subsonic is using.

When adding songs to a playlist you are selecting the tracks you want first (ticking the check boxes)?

Due to the confusion from too many genres of music, we have decided to put both country music and rap music into the genre of Crap music.

DOH! I was indeed forgetting to check the checkbox.

As for the playlists, they were created in the same directory structure I'm using for the library and still play in WMP over a samba share.

Example line from the .m3u's:
Code: Select all
ArtistName\AlbumName\SongName.mp3

The directory structure of the library matches the above. I've tried adding it by browsing to the samba share to the music library directory, and by copying it to my local disk.. still no dice.

Thanks for the help!

After some more troubleshooting, I'm able to import a playlist. By prepending /home/user/storage/music/ to each line and changing \'s to /'s to get the full filepath, it works!
