Winamp not reading M4A tags/titles via Subsonic

Postby Globe199 » Mon Nov 19, 2012 3:39 pm

The problem is that Winamp does not correctly read M4A tags or titles when files are played via Subsonic. All I see for the title is "stream?player=5&path....." The music plays fine.

Winamp will correctly read the tags when the files are local. Tags/titles appear correctly in iSub. So it must be something weird going on between Subsonic and Winamp. Any idea? Thanks.

Winamp 5.63 / Subsonic 4.5

This appears to be an old bug that has resurrected, or a new bug very similar to one that plagued 4.4. It would seem that the Jetty 6.1x server is NOT guessing on the content length when sending a transcoded stream. WinAMP gets confused, and not only can it not display the track name, it cannot seek within the track either.

It's driving me nuts, and if I figure it out, I'll post back here.

Sindre, can you look at this, sir? Thanks!

Subsonic 4.7 / WinAMP 5.63 - Issue does not seem to occur on Subsonic 4.6, as I'm able to seek within transcoded files there just fine.

Or, you have a two-step transcode that is "broke". :D
