Solved editing subsonic.sh file

Postby daddyo » Thu Dec 13, 2012 4:00 am

I am new to subsonic and could not find anything about this in the forum. I need to edit the subsonic.sh file in Linux Mint 9 so that I am not running it as root but have no idea how to do it. I am able to navigate to the correct file but cannot change anything. I also do not know what I need to change it to as a non root user. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Have you looked into chmod?

I found out how to open the subsonic.sh file as an administrator to make changes. What I do not know is what I need to change the user level to. At the bottom of the page is says SUBSONIC_USER=root. If I delete root, what am I supposed to write down as a non root user?

Just a guess, but what about a user on your mint system?
