ffmpeg transcoding

Postby whimpyjones » Sat Dec 29, 2012 7:15 am

Is there a recommended version from Zeranoe of ffmpeg that works best? I have a new install of subsonic with tomcat on a whs2011 and use isub at wok on my iPhone and need to transcode. The most recent version will not work, however I did download an earlier 64 bit static build and it seems to work fine but I have not seen a suggestion of the latest build that works best. Any thoughts?

Pretty much trial and error. I use 3 different versions depending on what I'm doing, one for video, one for ogg transcoding and I usually have the most recent version for general use.

https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=A ... 0A32A0!233 Audioffmpeg

These are old versions for Windows that always seem to work for me when the newer ones fail. Don't ask me why, I just tinker around until I find things that work. I do know that the most recent ffmpeg has started dropping audio in the Android app so I use the Videoffmpeg for that and it fixed that problem. I use the Audioffmpeg for transcoding to ogg for mobil use to maintain quality at more efficient bandwidth useage; great for when you're stuck with a crappy 3g signal.
