Merry Christmas to you too Leong and thanks again for the help thus far.

Yeah, does appear to be harder to troubleshoot now.

Am trying to access internally on home network. An using chrome and it just says ' could not load myip:4040'

I was having a similar problem, but solved it by following leong's advice in an ealier post:
"you will see a line that has https_port=4041 which you need to change to 0 "

You mention that you looked at subsonic.sh and saw that the host was 0.0.0.0 and the port was 4040, but did you make sure that SUBSONIC_HTTPS_PORT was set to 0 and not 4041 (in order to disable HTTPS)? For me, making that change and restarting Subsonic fixed my problem. Worth a try if you haven't already done it.

Thanks for the input 2skoops

I went back to check my subsonic.sh file again and there is no mention of the https port

At the bottom of the file it shows:

SUBSONIC_HOME = /usr/syno/synoman/webman/3rdparty/Subsonic
SUBSONIC_HOST = 0.0.0.0
SUBSONIC_PORT = 4040
-subsonic.sh 1/151 0%

No mention of the HTTPS_PORT

Am confused it is not there :?

I thought I would check the subsonic_sh.log file and noticed this error:

'Unable to access jarfile subsonic-booter-jar-with-dependencies. jar'

Not sure why I am getting this error. Java is installed correctly.

suggest you start from scratch again rather than trying to troubleshoot. remove everything. make sure you delete the Subsonic folder, remove Java. I am using the same box as you and have no issue with subsonic. Make sure is Java SE embedded 6 and not just Java SE embedded. you should see the ssl_port in your subsonic.sh file. something must have gone wrong. please use latest 4.7-029 install too as -028 has issues with intel box. other than that cant really see what else i could advice.

hey leong,

Happy New Year

Am back at my home PC now and can see the SUSONIC_HTTPS_PORT=4041 line now. I was connecting over remote access before and had some problems scrolling down.

I performed the vi subsonic.sh from Putty. Forgive my ignorance, how can I manually edit and save this file with the 0 replacing the 4041. I can use the arrow keys to navigate the .sh file but cannot seem to edit/save

Cheers

So everything is up and running now?
If anyone has some troubles again just start a new topic which describes the Problem AND your Synology System (Model, DSM Version, Java and Subsonic package version, ...) and send me a link to this topic via PM (like litfoosubsonic did). I will try to help as fast as I can. I was on vacation, sorry for my late response this time.
Any Problems unsolved, yet?
Maybe my install instructions or my FAQ site can help. If not: ask me ;)

Hey gigon

Good to hear from you and hope you had a good vacation over the holiday period.

Yes, am pleased to say that I am up and running - Leong /2 skoops were very helpful in pointing me in the right direction.

The issue with the settting of the HTTPS port to 0 from 4041 was due to the fact I was accessing the .sh file via remote access (VNC) and could not scroll down to see that row - typical :)

However I must add that in the process of installing the java/subsonic it only worked 1 out of 5 times or so - I had to keep trying different combinations of the 3 addons that are included in the package at installation to get it to work.

But since I managed to get it working one time, I have not fiddled around again as I fear it will not be accessible again, despite it showing as 'running'

Cheers
