Is there a way to organize the albums just by folder? I can't understand subsonic right now. I have everything sorted out by folders with the proper albums names as I WANT THEM, and madsonic just shows them as it pleases. Can't seem to figure that out. Ah, and the database never seems to complete the scan.

Plenty of good stuff going on there.

Any suggestion aside of nuking the server and starting from scratch?

First off, I am a long-time subsonic user that just found this thread when checking to see if user/group security had been added to subsonic. Glad madsonic has this going already - great work! I have, however, found a pretty serious bug for those like myself hoping to use the Access security groups to prevent users from accessing certain media folders. The bug is that the Random play queue tool on the More tab does not respect these permissions.

So for example, I log in with a user that does not have access to a media folder called Restricted. In the play queue tool, the "in folder" drop down still gives access to the Restricted media. Also, the "from genre" is listing genres that I know only exist in media within the Restricted folder. Once I then generate the queue, there are the files that should not be accessible.

I am running Windows version installed from 20121206_subsonic-MashupMod-4.8.beta2_B3292-setup.zip

EDIT: It looks like the Home screen also does not respect permissions for Random Albums. I get restricted files coming through for a user that should not be seeing them.

What do you mean exactly with 'organize the albums just by folder' ?

If the scan does not complete there are some problemes with the scan. Are there any Errors in the Logfile?
With my Dev-Build i fixed many problems with scaning and errors, but this build is not complete tested.
I will release this next week when i am back from winter holiday.

It looks like I missed some things. I will rework this with the next release.

I'm moving away from Madsonic and I wanted you to know why. The Artists grouping that was recently implemented. Do. Not. Want. The file structure and layout in 4.7 was ideal. I'm not setting up 6000+ artist images...(What line-up for RHCP would I use? Just letting you know!!! Thanks for all your hard work and very fast updates and rollouts!!!

Why not just disable the artist icon?

It is not just the artist icon he is talking about. When you are browsing the library from the left and you click on an artist you then have a place holder for an artist icon at the top and below that the album covers for the artist albums you have. I think that is what he is referring to.

What do you mean exactly with 'organize the albums just by folder' ?

If the scan does not complete there are some problemes with the scan. Are there any Errors in the Logfile?
With my Dev-Build i fixed many problems with scaning and errors, but this build is not complete tested.
I will release this next week when i am back from winter holiday.

If the scan does not complete there are some problemes with the scan. Are there any Errors in the Logfile?
With my Dev-Build i fixed many problems with scaning and errors, but this build is not complete tested.

No, in English the database shows ok. I've changed the language and it worked. Thanks for pointing that out.

You're right, that statement, as is, is just useless.

One folder is missing (CD11), one with a weird name (it's CD10, btw).
About the missing one, I've checked the permissions of the the folder. Even set it to 0777. No idea why isn't showing. And the names, this is happening all over the server. Some of the folders have the folder names, some have names I don't even know where they're coming from.

Sorry if this sound as a rant. It isn't. I'm just a lousy perfectionist. I use madsonic everyday, almost without interruption: and I love it.

What is the logic for how the folders\albums are displayed? It appears to be just random and like the other posts in this thread, the names appear to be random or pulled from tags. If the folder name says something like "CD 1" or "Disc 1" it just displays it as "Parent Folder Name Disc1, Parent Folder Name Disc2" and so on for everything. So I've had to rename everything as "Albums" (-pain in the ass) I just want them to list alphabetically. How would I do this?
