Yah that has been requested and it's definitely planned. So far there have just been some minor niggles I have to work out first.

Hi daneren2005, I'm still loving Dsub so much that I ditched PowerAmp completely!
I have a few questions though.

A bug happens when being connected to my server with its "wireless" settings (LAN IP).
So I add some songs and start the playlist. At one point I change to my server to the mobile connection.
This causes the removal of all non-downloaded songs from the playlist, despite it being the same server setup (via different IP).
Is there any way to counter this?
Having to save the playlist on every playlist change (every day) spams the playlist view.

I was also wondering whether you thought about a reordening interface for the playlist view.
This shows what I mean: http://www.mightygrocery.com/wp-content ... les-02.png

Also, I'm missing a way to quickly see all songs of a certain artist in the Library view.
Now artist songs are arranged by album.
Some artists have a gazillion albums. Which makes finding multiple songs scattered over multiple albums quite time-consuming.
So flattening the hierarchy could be useful.
Also, not all songs are showing up under the albums.
Some only show up under Top tracks. I'm using the MusicCabinet mod, which probably is relevant to the problem.

I know this is a lot to ask and you're already doing a stellar job. No player is 100% perfect after all.
So I'll just wait patiently :)

1) By playlist are you talking about the now playing list? The reason it removes songs which aren't downloaded is because normally when you switch to another server it is going to not have the same songs, or at the very least not associated with the same ID's. If it tries to download any songs it will result in an error. I'm not really sure if there is an easy way to get around this inherit problem. Is there any reason why you use a different server insde and outside of your LAN?

2) Being able to dynamically reorder the playlist has definitely been a todo for a long time. I'm hoping eventually I will get to have a shorter todo list and be able to get to things in a more timely fashion :(

3) I'm not really sure what to do to fix this one. I prefer and I think 99% of all people are going to prefer being given the album before the songs instead of having all the songs from a artist in one giant folder. I mean, if you have too many albums, you do realize that that is going to make one massive list of songs as well right?

4) I've never had a album not properly show up. Did you a) have this problem with the regular subsonic app and b) have it before you started using MusicCabinet? I'm thinking it's more likely a MusicCabinet problem. That dev seems pretty responsive so if you can provide him with a specific case of it happening he might be able to fix it. You can also use something like logcat (or use the Send Log option and send it to yourself) to get the exact API call the app is using when it's looking at the artist and copy paste that into a browser. From there you can see look and see if it is being returned or not. If it is it's a problem with the app and I would like to help fix it. If it's not it's definitely a problem with the server and there isn't much I can do.

I would imagine this is common for people hosting their servers at home. I use the ip address locally and my domain name externally. The only way I know to make my domain name also work internally is to be able to add an entry to the hosts file on devices but that only works on rooted devices.

I have a domain setup through afraid.org that works inside and outside my lan. Every morning I start playing music when I jump in the shower and then finish in the car on the way to work, no issues at all. I imagine this is a problem with the modem/router you are using. Maybe your ISP could help here.

Yeah, my previous statement was based on a web server I was running on port 80. When accessed using the domain name internally, that would bring up my router's admin page rather than the web server. I now see that if you are running on any port other than 80, it works fine.

I bet your modem has an option to turn that off. I've forwarded port 80 to port 4040 on the server internally.

Yah I'm surprised people are having that issue. I use the same IP externally and internally. Some people seem to have had problems with the standard subsonic address though. Have you tried something like dyndns?

i really like the app, but could you make one cosmetic change to keep the aspect ratio of the album art intact when in landscape mode?

The only problem with that (and the original reason I set it up the way I did) was that it cuts out a portion of the top and bottom of the album art. It's not super noticiable on that image, but it was on a lot of the ones that I tested. I will have to look more into it.

yeah cropping wouldn't be much better - i spend a lot of time on the road and dsub's feature to relinquish audio control to navigation was what sold me - thanks for all the hard work

Does this look any better to you? It looks about the same in terms of trade offs in my opinion.
