Subsonic won't start

Postby ck100 » Sat Feb 16, 2013 2:14 pm

Hi,

I've the latest version of Subsonic installed since it was released. After I did a Windows or Java update, now Subsonic server will not start.

How should I troubleshoot?

I'm running Windows 7 - 64bit desktop.

Thanks!

Joe

Make sure you have 32bit java installed as well as 64bit.
Also check the subsonic log in c:\subsonic.

I went to Filehippo and download both versions. One said that it was already installed, the other installed, but still no go after re=booting. The log only contains info from the last time Subsonic was working. I'm assuming subsonic.txt is the log.

-Update - It must be related to Java, I just got the attached message.

What do I need to do here? Both versions of JRE are installed.

The problem is your Java install so Google is your friend here. However I suggest getting a copy of JavaRa which will remove any old java versions then re-install both versions again.
I would suggest installing the 32bit version (which SS needs) first.

Thanks! I ended up uninstalling both version of Java, then using Ccleaner to remove the registry entries. I rebooted, installed Java 32-bit only and now it works.
