Port Issues

Postby Maquinal » Thu May 14, 2009 5:37 pm

Hi guys.

I'm having some issues when trying to open a port. I've got two routers and a modem. I have already successfully setup a static IP, and have opened the port in both routers. I have thoroughly checked, and I do not have a firewall running. Is it possible that my modem is being annoying, and not letting me through? Is there any way to fix this?

I'm on XP.

I would start with the two routers. I know it was a little tricky for me setting up port forwarding for a different app when I was using 2 routers running dd-wrt. The machine hosting the app was sitting behind a router that was running in client mode and I believe I had to setup a route on the first router and remove port forwarding on the second.. it was a while back so I do not remember the specifics.

Not sure what type of routers you are using but if it is dd-wrt firmware I would search their forum.
