Can't Force HTTPS to 8080? (It jumps to 8433)

Postby Fashdey » Tue Mar 05, 2013 9:03 am

Hey Guys! :D
(I did search for my problem but couldn't find a solution that answers my question)

SUBSONIC_ARGS="--port=4041 --https-port=4040 --max-memory=150" (Works as it should)

I have this problem, I'm setting up my server for HTTPS 4040 and HTTP 4041 which works fine, but when I'm at school those are blocked,
which 8080 isn't.

Then I wanted to change to 8080 so I can connect from more public places

But when I set SUBSONIC_ARGS="--port=4040 --https-port=8080 --max-memory=150"
and connects to the 8080 using https:// it changes to 8433 ?

Simulation
https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080 when I go to this it changes to
https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8443/login.view?

Which I can't view from school/public places.

I just HTTPS to stay at 8080 (Is that possible)?

I will try and see if I can get a log for the HTTPS 8080/8443 but atm. I can't see the page (either from my phone which is my currently most open connection)

Any Sugestions/Need of more info?

I've read up some stuff like the restrictions of <1024 (low ports) is for root only and stuff like that

And 8080 is also a restricted port, but how do I make a workaround that you guys think would work? :)

I really hope someone wants to help me, because I can't really use the software as intended without port 8080 :(

I've been playing with this for a good while as well and I still haven't been able to figure it out. Any luck?

I was able to reproduce this bug, but I haven't found a fix for it.

I believe the 8080 -> 8443 redirect is done automatically by Jetty. It seems only to happen when setting https port to 8080. Other ports I tried worked fine.
