Bug report - new tab opening after viewing last.fm content

Postby flvinny521 » Mon Mar 11, 2013 9:55 pm

I am using MusicCabinet 0.7.22 in Chrome. If I click a link that causes a last.fm page to open (recommended artist name, for example) and then I click another internal link (such as a navigation button along the top, or an artist name from my local directory) a new tab will open with that content instead or navigating away from the last.fm page in the center frame.

Signing out and back in does solve the problem, until I view another page from last.fm.

I think I'll call this a Chrome issue as it doesn't happen in other browsers. I played with it for a bit and it seems that if you open a last.fm page in the main frame and then press back or backspace, the top navigation works just as normal again. Alternatively, if you Control+Click the last.fm links to have them opened in a new tab, the Subsonic page also works just as normal too.

I guess there could be an option for "always open last.fm links in a new browser" (adding target="_blank" to the links). That's the best solution I can think of server-side. Or a new HTML5 interface instead of <frames>.

If any web guru can identify a better fix for this, feel free to post.

These work-arounds are good enough for me, I didn't even think to test navigating back before clicking a new link. Thanks again for your quick attention!
