I tried this version of the app: artist, album, and track is displayed, but no position marker or duration.

until i updated the app to the current version, it causes a lot of trouble on my galaxy note 2 with stock rom. it works fine for quite a while, but when i start to skip tracks, it often hangs in "buffering" status. sometimes it happens that after skipping several more tracks it starts to playback properly again but most of the time it causes a forced close. can anyone confirm similar behaviour?

Hello.

I have the same problem but I don't think it has anything to do with DSub.
I have the international SGS3 that almost just got an update (well actually 2 very short after each other). Did your Note 2 also get an update?

I also experienced this problem. When I try to open the files with another player (stock og google) it just tels me that the type is not supported (MP3's) or that the file is corrupted.

So I copied a lot of the music manually and played it with the Google player and all went fine untill my trip home with the bus. I couldn't play the files any more and DSub had not touched the files. I then thought that I would watch a movie and started the player but there was no sound. So I restarted the phone and voila! Music worked again. Movies had sound and everything was good.

But I have also had the problem that my alarm clock doesn't play ant sound and just vibrates. I sleep too deep to be awakened by this so I have slept long a couple of times.

I think this is related and that we should address Samsung with the problem. I'm going to write them this weekend and call them monday. This needs to be fixed!

Please let me know if you find out something about this problem. Specially a fix! :-)

Kind regards
Nicolai

I have been getting a lot of problems reported from samsung devices recently. Some of them I think I can solve and we will have to see if those take care of the other issues or not :?

Interesting. My Note 2 received two updates (i guess two or three weeks ago), one bigger and one smaller and I can't really tell when the unwanted behaviour really started to happen so it might be related with the firmware / os patching.

as i didn't have problems with the other music apps i am using (google music, napster, tunein radio) i found it obvious to blame DSub.

Can anyone of you Samsung guys try this apk out for me and let me know if you continue to have problems? I'm grasping at straws here but I really don't know what Samsung changed that is screwing things up and unfortunately freezes don't show up in logs :(

I also use a Galaxy Note 2 and don't have any of the issues mentioned in this thread.

Hey Daneren.

As I said I don't think this is related to your code since I experienced this on the stock player with music I copied over USB.
But of course I will test it and report back if problems occur! :-)

Since this is a problem that I cannot recreate by myself I don't know when I will reply. Sometimes it can take over a week before it happens.

But thanks a lot for trying to fix this.

for me, the patched version didn't change anything. on wifi it seems to work properly but when it comes to 3g streaming, it preloads between 100 - 200 kb and than freezes on "buffering".

Do you mean freezes as in it just stops, or freezes as in it crashes? I was only aware of people having trouble with it freezing as in the app crashes. If it just stops buffering that is a different issue.

sorry for making this not really clear.
it says "buffering" and music stops or better does not start playing back as this happens at the very beginning of a new song. the app itself still reacts to user interactions. with the new version, i cannot exit the app using the menu command. this worked in the version i've used before but caused android to report a forced close message after a few seconds.

Ah yes that is a very different problem then what others are reporting then. Can you try sending me a log after that happens and let's see if any relevant information gets caught in the logs.

Just wanted to say thanks for fixing the stuttering playback on the first track and for the improvements to gapless playback which means my Android phone running JB is now singing like a good un ! This app is now as perfect as I need it to be - well done !
