Problems getting subsonic working

im struggling to get subsonic to work on my iphone or even be streamed accross any network.

iv setup up the port forwarding to 4040 and my ip address. when you go on the setup and it starts the checks it says that the port forwarding was successful but then when it comes to the user name check it says: craig20102010.subsonic.org is registered, but could not connect to it. (ConnectTimeoutException). no idea what that means. How do i get it to work within the network?

my ip address for this computer is 192.168.1.149 iv tried putting that in the address field on my phone and then putting in one of the user names and passwords that iv set and it just comes back with a error 8 saying invalid subsonic address.

if i type in 192.168.1.149:4040 in the address bar of a browser window it brings up the subsonic admin login page so something is working.

do i need to registor the address i want to use? or can i just simply type it into that box and when its checked its done?

Any idea what iv forgot to do? or what im doing wrong. Thanks Craig

Need to open 4040 on your router. Test with canyouseeme.org for 4040.

Well it doesn't make sense. It says on the website that forwarding to 4040 is working successfully. I'll try that website on canyonseeme. Iv opened them ports on the router so it should work fine.

192.168... sound like an internal IP address, not what the rest of the internet will see.

If canyouseeme.org cannot see you, the port is not open. Be sure to reboot your router after making any changes, and retest at canyouseeme.org.
