Windows 8 client

Hi all, I just wanted you to know I've just released a Windows 8 client for Subsonic. It's still pretty basic but I intend to add new features regularly.

Nice looking, I have windows 8 at work so ill try it out tomorrow.
You should ask Sindre to put it on the apps page of the subsonic website

Hi,
I don't know if you get crashes or if I can send you a crash log but I opened it connected fine.
When I went to the library part it started to load the A artists but then it crashed out back to my desktop.
It does this every time I try to view the library sections

Hi Paul, yes I have logs. But they still dont come to me . Please search for "Supersonic" in %appdata% windows folder. Then go to LocalState\MetroLogs. If you could send me those files to SupersonicDev@outlook.com that would be great. Thanks!

Hi Alan, for the moment there's no live tile (although it might be implemented soon). In the meantime I've submited an update today fixing a bug when browsing with large collections and with integrated search for artists/albums.

2 Quick questions?

I've got my server on a custom port with an SSL certificate - every time I add my server; and go to add username and password - it hangs and won't let me get into the password field.

Secondly; I've gone onto the demo server - but no can't find where to change that.

My subsonic is installed on my Homeserver and i`m trying to connect through my laptop.

The login details are all correct and am logging in with Admin account i have no problem connecting to the subsonic server via the browser or any of the other desktop apps which are available but cannot connect via your windows 8 client
Is there anything i can do to fix this at the moment.

Hi Yanos, thats strange.. If you are connecting to a custom port I'm assuming you added ":PORT_NR" at the end of the server address correct? But maybe the issue is that I havent added https option (only http). If thats the case in my next update I'll inlcude that option asap..

For the 2nd question, you should invoke the windows 8 charms (win key+c or "right upper corner") and go to "settings"

Hi polar26 thanks for the screenshot. I googled a bit and think I know what the problem is. Unfortunately it has to be handled on the app so it'll be fixed in the next release, which will be ASAP. Thanks

Regarding this one, you should be able to specify "https://YOUR_ADDRESS:CUSTOM_PORT" in your server address. Just invoke the settings in the app charms (the standard way in Win8)

Search has been implemented as well (again through the Win8 approach: invoke charms -> search and choose Subsonic to search on. You dont even have to have the app running to search in it).

Next stop: live tiles!

Thanks for the additions - however I'm still not able to connect.

I'm never able to type in the password box - am I missing something?

I can change server to https://myserver.org.uk:4443
Change Username: No Problem

But password box just never lets my type, then crashes.

If you need any logs; please let me know.
