Foudn this around 2/20 and loving it! Lots of little bugs here and there but I can see there is alot of active development.

I noticed changing the repeat mode doesn't change the icon like it does in the standard subsonic app, just something you might want to look into.

Thanks again! this is something that was so needed I was about to mess around in eclipse to see if I could add notification controls, glad someone with more experience stepped in and I can be a tester.

Thanks! You rock!
BlueTooth control definitely works now.
Though, initially, it scared me for a bit because it wasn't responding right away... but the "stock"(?) app does that occasionally to me too.

Other than that, the client is great, works well, and your time and effort is greatly appreciated!

Right. What I propose is a separate button, just under server selection that performs the same function, so it behaves more like a toggle. In Dsub, it works great - it's just a convenience thing.

One thing I noticed, and this may already be addressed, is that sometimes artwork is visible in the app player, but not in the widget player. Any idea on that? This is not a priority by any stretch, but, since I'm already here, I'm a little curious.

I don't personally use the widget, so I have not seen it. I'll use for a while to see if I notice anything.

I noticed that as well, I will try to address in the next release.

Mostly fixes. Most were reported here a few found by me.

I would really like to know if the StreamProxy option works better now. Does anyone have any further results? It is working great for me.

Now that I have nearly all of the known bugs squashed, I plan on moving on to features. In fact I'm starting on the gapless playback, for Jelly Bean devices only, next.

You just made my day.

Small feature request for the GUI. I bought dSub before I knew of this project, and it does have one minor feature that I love. Instead of listing "go offline" as a server, it's a separate option, just below server selection. Can we have this on the next release as well?

Thank you so much for being diligent, responsive, and, above all else, damned competent.

SubSonic changed the way I look at music, and this app is a part of that. Thanks again!

I will look into this, but to be honest I don't really use the offline feature. Once the music has been downloaded I use Google Play Music. I know dSub has made improvements to offline playback which might make it easier for me to use, but I haven't looked at very closely or how it is implemented, I just read some of the thread.

Minor release: 3.9.9.22

The inconsistency of the lock screen controls has been driving me crazy, so I took another stab at fixing them. So far, they work every time, which is more than I can say previously.

The flu and life have gotten in the way of doing much work on this recently, unfortunately. I started to look at the gapless playback feature available in JellyBean, but the current playback mechanism causes the implementation of it to not be straight forward. Then I got the flu. Hopefully things have calmed down again and I will be able to continue with this.

I will probably rename the project to something else for the next release, just so I don't interfere with the official client. Perhaps I will put it on the Play Store, mainly for distribution purposes.

Thanks for your work on this client.

I have a question related to scrobbling tracks to last.fm. Does the client send the scrobble info as soon as a track begins playing, when it has finished playing, as it is being downloaded into cache, or on some other event?

I have a library that includes some tracks that I tend to skip frequently because they may belong to my wife, or they're by an artist or album I'm just "testing out," and I don't necessarily want those tracks srobbled immediately.

That's all done on the server side, I think. So it would depend on which version of subsonic you are using.

ArchSub!
It's a flawless name. The prefix makes sense and with that you can't ask for anything more!

Hey everyone, sorry I've been so quiet lately. I had some issues to detail with, the most recent would be a week of not having a functional computer. I'm back up and running now, but the bad news is my in progress code was lost in a hard drive failure. So I'm starting over on some of the changes I was working on. There are a few bugs I'm trying to squash right now, one of them is really bothering my wife so I'm focusing on that first. That would be audio stuttering when vibration or notification sounds occur. This is happening for her on a Verizon Galaxy S3 running nightly CM 10.1. In addition, I noticed a bug when using StreamProxy and having 0 bytes of data returned when trying to play. Finally, a minor bug I created in the last build with duplicated entries in the buffer settings.

It sucks I need to start over, but I have made better arrangements for offsite backups. That's in addition to source control. The playback mechanism currently in the Subsonic code doesn't make it easy to add the gapless playback method used in Jelly Bean. Now that I'm starting over, it may allow me to take a new approach, we'll see.

Well why would you need to backup. Just commit to github regularly :D

If you think it will take weeks to get it right just use branches. Once you get the hang of them they are really easy to make and merge back into the master, especially if you just use a IDE to handle it.

No reason I didn't check in the code, just stupidity. My friend turned me on to BitCasa, I set up the account and then never used it.

He also gave me a new case and CPU, I never expected moving a hard drive from one case to another would cause the click of death.
