How to update musiccabinet after tag/image changes?

Postby rubbersoul » Fri Apr 05, 2013 3:11 pm

I recently added a bunch of album art to my library. I told musiccabinet to rescan the library for updates, but the new album art is not recognized I think because musiccabinet only looks for new files to add? Is there any way to tell musiccabinet or the SQL database to look for updated album artwork/file tags?

Hmm I guess you added a folder.jpg, not embedded artwork? Could you try changing the file date of one of the files from the album? It could be that the scanner only updates albums based on changed music files, not on new album art placed in the same folders. I don't remember for sure but that seems most likely.

Yes, I'm using folder.jpg or lastfm.jpg. After changing the file date and running an offline scan, it does recognize the files as changed for meta-scanning but doesn't fetch the new album art saved in folders.

Wait a minute, I spoke too soon. The problem I'm having is actually that it looks only for folder.jpg or folder.png and not *.jpg or *.png. after running a few tests, I can confirm that if folder.jpg or .png is added to the album and the libary is scanned, it will recognize the new artwork files and add it to the database.

That's good news, then I don't have to touch the scanner :)
