Not working on Chromium [Ubuntu]

Postby dsub » Sun Apr 14, 2013 9:07 am

I can't seem to play any music. Neither in the "bundled" Mini Sub, nor the Chrome extension.

I am using Chromium browser in the Ubuntu repos. I had recently been using Chromium on Mac OS X, and it worked fine. Is anyone using Ubuntu able to reproduce this issue?

:(

Thanks! Now I just have to make m4a work. Any ideas?

Code: Select all
Subsonic API: 1.8.0
Audio State: html is currently being used with m4a support

It's attempting to play, but no sound. I thought ffmpeg should have me covered, but I guess not. I desperately installed various "aac" packages, no luck.

m4a playback works in regular Subsonic.

Hi,

For HTML5 video/audio must be only chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra. The other codecs are for other tipe of media.

If read the package description of chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra:
This package contains the multi-threaded ffmpeg codecs needed for the HTML5 <audio> and <video> tags. In addition to the patent-free ogg, vorbis and theora codecs, aac/ac3/mpeg4audio/h264/mov/mp3 are also included. See chromium-codecs-ffmpeg if you prefer only the patent-free codecs

You must see the audio stream to know that codec you need. (Or recode the audio).

Greetings.

I just can't get m4a to work, nothing happens!
It's not a huge deal. My Subsonic usage from a desktop is minimal, but still...
