Can't access SS Data to set up new Computer [Resolved]

Hello:

My ancient PC running WIndows XP that I was using as my subsonic server finally crashed. The music files are all on an external drive and are fine, but the SS data files were on the now inaccessible hard drive and I have no back up. I have installed SS on a new Windows 7 machine hooked up my external drive with the music files on it and thought I'd just be able to enter my SS address and user name and everything would be hunky dory, but of course this was rather naive of me, as I need the SS data from the old hard drive to access my URL and make everything work. Am I forced to start from scratch, new set-up, new URL, buy Subsonic Premium again, etc.? I don't mind too terribly much as I love Subsonic and its all a learning curve for me, (I won't make this mistake again), but it is a hassle I'd rather avoid if there's an easier way out.

All you should need is the registration code from your email to get back up and running. If you have done that..what error are you seeing?

Thanks for your reply! Unfortunately, the email with the registration code resides on yet another computer that has died - a cheap Dell Laptop. Any other way to access the registration code?

In the Tutorial section exists a way to recover your registration password by parsing your email address. Let me know if you cannot locate the thread.

I was unable to find the thread explaining how to recover SS registration info by parsing an email address. The closest I could find was a thread on repairing a broken DB but it required access to the SS computer's HD, which I no longer have. I have been pursuing another method of recovering the information. I think the original email with the registration information may reside on the aforementioned dead Dell laptop. I've pulled the HD out of that laptop and have ordered a SATA to USB cable to try and recover the info. Hopefully that cable will arrive tomorrow. Perhaps that's the easiest solution at this point? Thanks.

I found a link on the SS website under the FAQ section that resent the original registration information from SS to me. I clicked that link - SS sent me the info - I entered it and everything is working great! Thanks for your help!
