If it only works on your wifi and not even other's wifi then something is wrong with the routing. That is a server problem, not a app problem. You can try opening up the server in a browser to verify that you can't access it from anywhere else as well.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that. I just tried it and I get (in Chrome) "Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to....."

Go to http://Canyouseeme.org and test to see if the port is open on the server.

Well, I wasn't sure what PORT # to put in, but when I went to that site, port 80 was automatically populated. Then I got :

Error: I could not see your service on 209.6.49.60 on port (80)
Reason: Connection timed out

Port 80 is the default port for http traffic. With blocked port 80 you will need to run your web server on a non-standard port in conjunction with a port 80/web redirect from No-IP.com.

HOWEVER, Under Subsonic settings/network, it states "Successfully forwarding port 80."

You need to test the port that Subsonic is using. The default should be 4040.

and FYI, normally when I go to my IP address, it opens my router page. NOW, when I go to it, it goes to my subsonic page... Weird...????

I tried portforward.com, but it appears the page is not working because I have chosen my router and other routers and nothing comes up, a blank page appears when choosing the router.

Your port forwarding is not set correctly. You MUST get canyouseeme,org to be able to see the port as open before you can connect from outside your internal network.

The first two posts at the link above are for Windows/Android setup, but the same principles that are explained regarding setting up the network properly apply to any OS.

Basically:

Install Subsonic on host.

Test the local host installation to see that it works on the local machine.

Try to connect from INSIDE your own network. If it doesn't work, check to see if the firewall settings on the local host machine are open for the port selected for Subsonic.

Test to see that port forwarding is properly set on your router and that no firewalls are blocking traffic to the host macine on the Subsonic port (4040).

Test from outside the network.

If the communication path is blocked anywhere the connection will fail. Your router has to pass the request from the internet to your server. If Subsonic is on a local host internally at 192.168.1.50 and is set to listen to port 4040 the router has to get a request from outside at your EXTERNAL ip:4040 and pass it to the internal address:port4040. NAT - Network address translation.

Have you read the tutorials? I have never had to in the past. It was just like "Plug n Play". But I read over http://monroeworld.com/android/subsonic/ , but had errors at "Permissions to remote folders". At #10, am I putting in my subsonic PW? Because that is what I did. Then at #14, "OWNER-PC\Owner" was all that would work for an "object" and I then put in my subsonic PW, applied new setting, stopped service, restarted and the got "Error 1069: the service did not start due to a logon failure", where is says "You should receive no errors." I then proceeded to select Local System Account and that allowed me to start the service

Not sure if this matters, but my IP is supposedly 209.6.49.60, but my router has a 192.168.x.x. address for the IP and my Subsonic page opens up -on my WIFI only- whether it is http://192.168.1.126, 209.6.49.60 or somercamb.subsonic.org. The fact that it opens up with two numerical addresses, does that mean something?

And I just realized that by disabling port 80, the 206 address above gives me: 404 Not Found. File not found.

What port is SS using on your host? (systray_>Console). Is the host a static IP? Is your collection ON the host, or other sources?
