Well, scratch what I said, cuz it just worked on this video call. Not sure what's going on. Thanks for being so responsive and putting up with me :-)

I can verify the small size and low resolution album art on the widgets. Please see my attached image. I also notice that my widget shows a pause button quite often when there is no music playing.

As always, thanks for your responsive and continued development on this app! It is the best!!

HeWhoIsLunchbox wrote:Do the widgets use different album art files than the ones used when playing an album in the app? They seem very low res in the widgets. I was making the 4x4 widget the entire size of my tablet page, but the art looks awful. Can anything be done about this, or is it a issue with the server?

"Would it be possible to scroll titles that are long? This would be for either album or track titles that are longer than what is visible on screen. Classical music usually has very long titles and currently there is no way to view the entire title."

+1. would love to see this

I have done some work on this. It's weird because it worked for some things but not for others. I am trying to figure out what was wrong with it before I add to a release so it is a across the board fix.

I've been having an issue when I'm listening on headphones. At the beginning of a song, the volume will spike for a split second. This happens on random songs. And the weirdest part is that it doesn't seem to happen when I'm listening using the AUX jack in my car, only when using headphones/earbuds.

I'm using a Galaxy SIII and I'm thinking it may have something to do with the Gapless Playback option.

EDIT: One more thing, the Subsonic server sorts my albums by year but DSub sorts them alphabetically. I'd like the sorting on DSub to match the sorting on my server.

I have to disagree with hewhoislunchbox. Sorting by year is not good. Who remembers the year that every album came out? Subsonic should never have sorted by year. Please don't sort Dsub by year. Previous poster, if you want subsonic to sort by letter, install a previous version and stick with that. That is what I've done for several moons. Please keep in mind this post is not intended to flame or start a fire. Thank you for understanding.

Btw, I assume the new subsonic still sort artists by letter? But within each artist, the album's are sorted by year? Hmm, that could be good, only if an artists has a few albums out. But what about artists who've been around for several decades?

In the server, there is the option to sort by year (you can turn it off if you so desire). That's what I'm asking for, the option. I like my albums to be in chronological order.

I think this goes back to my request for more sorting via tags. I use MediaMonkey at home for my music organization. I can sort by multiple columns (Album Artist, Album, Disc #, track#). It would be really nice to have similar sorting here.

PS: I use MediaMonkey with a script that will export my playlists. In the script, I have MM set to re-map a location to the folder structure that Subsonic sees. It will then place the newly created playlist into a folder that SS scans and those playlists will be available to me on DSub.

what is the difference between Cache and Permanent Cache? A friend of mine thought it might mean that cache can be replaced by something else "cached" but Perm Cache is more like a permanent download? The reason I ask is because I have noticed lately songs that I "downloaded" but are now missing and thus had to re-download them. Is there a relation to the two?

thank you

Yes that is exactly it. Cached songs can be deleted to make room for new songs, but ones put as permanent cache can't.

Clever if I spent the time to make playlists I should love this. I've got too little time and too many songs lol.

But I have 11gb available on my SD card and that is where my music is stored. So why would music be deleted already?

Go to the first tab and do about. It should have some relevant stats. You might need to increase the space allocated to the app in the settings.

Got it, thanks. The cache was 2 GB so I increased or to 10 GB. Hopefully that helps. Thank you

Hi again,

Great job with the updates! However, I do have some questions and a possible bug to point out.

First, the bug: It appears, with the attached screenshot (#1), that my Perm Cached album (offline) by BIRDWATCHERS OF AMERICA, is out of order. The first song is #8. However, when I go online, that same album is IN order (I deleted some of the space filler "songs", hence mostly even #'ed songs). Any idea why?
#1 Screenshot- SONGS OUT OF ORDER.png

On to screenshot #2: it shows the songs as Perm Cache. Notice the bit rate (128) and artist (various)...
#2 Screenshot- PERM CACHE (OFFLINE).png

Now with screenshot #3, I am showing the same album as #2, but as ONLINE. Notice the bit rate is higher (the same BR that is on my PC) and the artist's name is shown rather than 'various' under each song. I did notice that at the top (near the album artwork) it does not have an artist labeled, but on #2 it says 'various artists'. Note that I have maxed the bit rate at 98 on my phone, so not sure why it says or was converted to 128 when downloaded. So my question is why is the artist name and bit rate changed when downloaded? My guess on the artist name is that the phone just happens to order it that way, but why and is there a way around it?
#3 Screenshot- ONLINE.png

*BTW, I assume the new color code of blue is for cached and green is perm cached?

Thank you for any assistance!
