Error with loading Musicabinet

Hi folks,
I receive the below error with I first tried downloading MusicCabinet and then installing. Thanks for your help!

And actually ever siocne this error, Ive attempted to uninstall and reinstall Subsonic but it keeps on saying my login information is wrong. Help!!

I'm having this same exact issue with fresh subsonic 4.8 and MusicCabinet 0.7.24

When I check the postgres log I see:

org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: FATAL: password authentication failed for user "postgres"

which I can only imagine is the error.

I've ensured that my postgres password is good, and I can authenticate into postgres manually.

Yeah I received the same error when installing it today as well. I also installed the latest version of subsonic (4. prior to installing musicabinet and had the same error. I am assuming it is not working with version 4.8?

In that case, try to install it with subsonic 4.7 http://sourceforge.net/projects/subsonic/files/subsonic/4.7/

I've got MusicCabinet up and indexing...

I blew away my install and tried again. The seekrit was installing postgresql-9.1 and postgresql-contrib AFTER loading MusicCabinet up the first time. Installing postgresql earlier in the process seems to have been what mucked up the works. I'm not sure why, but that has been my experience.

This might not be an issue with postgresql v9.1 but with v9.3 I couldn't select a user for the db. I had to go with user "postgres" (as also is advised on http://dilerium.se/musiccabinet/#installation) - but I had to set a password for that user.

I couldn't find any requirements for the password, so i just chose one. How does MusicCabinet know the password of the user "postgres"? Or maybe it doesn't need to know that password to update the database???
