Bulk Delete of Playlists

Postby jaume » Thu Jan 31, 2013 7:07 pm

Hi all,

Is there a way of deleting all playlists in the subsonic interface?

For some reason I have duplicates of lists with 0 songs in them and do not want to delete them one by one.

PS. Looking forward to the former playlist management system where you could point to the playlists location on your local drive. :)

I assume that as you have now "downgraded?" to 4.6 then that problem is no longer an issue :)

IMHO 4.7 is not necessarily an upgrade but an alternative version.
A number of advantages but also a few features missing and it's up to the individual user to decide what's best for them.
I am running both on my server but generally I (and my users) stick with 4.6

You are right, the issue is gone with 4.6. Wondering if it is possible with 4.7 to do a bulk delete though... Any ideas_

Also, I am getting an error message now that I downgraded to 4.6:

Exception java.lang.OutOfMemoryError
Message Java heap space
Java version Sun Microsystems Inc. 1.6.0_27
Operating system Windows 7 6.1
Server jetty-6.1.x
Memory Used 96 of 96 MB
Stack trace java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I tried to uninstall Java and subsonic and reinstall them in that order.

Use the console to increase your memory allotment..try 250MB.

Thanks for the response. I have increased it to 500 as I have 3GB of RAM and I am getting the same error message:

Exception java.lang.OutOfMemoryError
Message Java heap space
Java version Sun Microsystems Inc. 1.6.0_27
Operating system Windows 7 6.1
Server jetty-6.1.x
Memory Used 96 of 96 MB
Stack trace java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

I have stopped and started subsonic when I made the change, so not sure why it still says Used 96 of 96 MB. Any ideas?

I have changed the port and it seems to have reset the memory limit and it is now set to 500MB and all working. :)

Is it possible to do a bulk delete of playlists in 4.8?

Any thoughts on this one? I would like to delete all the playlists on the Web interface as there are loads of duplicates in it and deleting them one by one is very time consuming (200+ playlists).

Not sure where the playlists are in Windows, but in Linux they live under /var/subsonic/playlists/

Can anyone confirm this (or point to a similar location) in Windows? I can not seem to find where they are stored. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Any update on this one? Really interested in moving to 4.8 but when I do I end up with triplicates of 300 playlists, so that means an individual 600 playlist clean up...

Many thanks for any help.

I have a Windows Home Server (v1) that runs Subsonic and I can confirm that there is indeed a C:\subsonic\Playlists folder.. but there is nothing in it.

I have at least 12 different playlists in Subsonic right now and they don't show up in there. I believe this is a "import only" folder where it will only import the playlists in that folder. I have no idea where they are actually stored.

Sorry to bring this one up again. But still have not figured out where the playlists are stored so I can do a bulk delete.

Any possibility to add a functionality to subsonic so playlists can be managed in bulk rather than deleted one by one?

Anyone who has succeeded with a workaround?

Many thanks in advance.

I am sure this has been answered before but the playlists (from v4.7 onwards) are stored in the SS database.
I think the folder is created so you can export your playlists as m3u files.

I expect you could bulk delete using db.view if you up on SQL programming syntax :? eg know what ye doin'
