Commodore wrote:attempting to queue up all albums for a single artist at once by tapping the "play all" button fails with error "Album not found."

steps to reproduce:
1. open up the media library
2. tap an artist that has multiple albums
3. hit the play arrow in the upper right corner
4. get error message

for what it's worth, I have the option "Browse UIsing ID3 Tags" enabled, and "Use Folders For Artist Name" disabled

I see the same, will look into it.

hi,

thanks for a great app!

only problem i'm having is related to the pauses\stutters in playback of the first song as reported in a couple of other threads. i tried ultrasonic as it has the buffer option. i set this to 5 but now the whole song downloads before playback starts rather than after 5 seconds. this is on a galaxy s4 stock rooted rom. the server is a recent build of madsonic.

any clues?

thanks!

gary.

Samsung usually has a very large buffer on their media player when streaming. Unfortunately it isn't a configurable option.

To prevent skipping during playback of a currently downloading song, the file is streamed instead of played directly from disk, that is where the buffer comes into play.

I will see if I can borrow a co-workers S4.

i did some further investigating and it seems it is only with flac files that this problem exists. with mp3 files or flac files transcoded to mp3 by the server, the buffer works as expected. unfortunately, all my music collection is in flac format!

I've noticed an issue in the last couple of versions (not sure if it's always been there though) where if you pause a song midway through, come out of UltraSonic for longer than 15 minutes or so and then go back into UltraSonic, it will jump to the first song of the album which contains the song that was paused and start downloading that, even if that particular song wasn't queued in the first place. It's like the app 'times out' and forgets the state it was in! Any ideas? I'm running a Nexus 4 with rooted Jelly Bean 4.2.2.

Running Ultrasonic in landscape mode with the playlist showing has a very evident perf issue:

1) Load large playlist (mine's >400 tracks)
2) Rotate device to 90 or 270deg
3) Tap button to hide cover art / show track list
4) Play a track
5) Wait and watch

After about a minute you'll start seeing the progress meter lagging. Rather than counting by seconds, it'll count every other second, then every 5, then every 10, etc. The entire UI will follow suit, making is nearly impossible to control the app. Tapping the menu button then Screen On, for instance, can take 10-12 seconds to complete. The device's Back and Home buttons are also effected. Basically, Ultrasonic takes the whole device to its knees.

- Returning to album art resets the UI to normal, but the leak will start again when exposing the track list.
- Does not seem to repro in portrait mode, but I can't say for sure (I never use the app in portrait).

OK, I've been having this same problem as someone mentioned a month ago in the main thread. In offline mode, some songs'll just hang at 'buffering...' and never start to play.

I just grabbed a logcat, (http://pastebin.com/J0rtYQPF -- my apologies if it's a total mess, I don't know how to restrict it to just what's relevant), but I think I can tell you exactly what the problem is just from looking at it (though maybe not the source of said problem)... here's the line (apologies for formatting typos, I'm just copying it by sight):

E/av (20126): File /storage/extSdCard/subsonic/music/Bon Iver/2009 - Blood Bank/01-01-Blood Bank.partial.mp3 does not exist

the .partial.mp3 does not exist, in this case, because it's just .mp3 (it's a pinned track). I assume a similar thing is happening with .partial/.complete with other tracks. The tracks are fine, and will play in other players.

Let me know if I can test some other cases to drill down to where the issue is.

I'm running a Samsung GNote II on Sprint, rooted with synergy rom r105. Manually changed it to store tracks on the external SD Card.

I love the app. Thanks. Also, I don't see a donate version -- Is there a place where we can throw you a few sheqels?

In offline mode, if I browse to an artist, then click the play button at the top-right, I get the following error:

"Username may not be null."

If I go one level deeper by taping on an album, then click the play button, it works fine.

Sorry for the lack of updates lately. I will try to tackle the outstanding bugs as soon as I can.

Thanks for a great app. I have one show stopping bug to report though:

I'm getting 100% use of one full core just by opening the Ultrasonic. I'm using a Nexus 4, and have no such problems with Dsub:

I'm using offline mode.

If you are playing a list of songs and you have the Album Art up... if you rotate the phone and switch to the playlist view (whatever it's called)... it doesn't 'snap' to the current song. It appears to switch to the beginning of the list.

Not a show stopper at all.

This should be resolved with the version currently in the Play Store, if you haven't upgraded yet, you might want to wait until 1.2.0.7 is posted.

Yeah, I'm going to add some options so you can enable auto-scroll to currently playing and possibly some other options in that area. When I do that I will try to fix this particular problem.

I don't know if anything I've done in the last few builds has resolved it, let me know. If I haven't, any chance you could provide a file that is causing you problems so I can try to reproduce the issue?
