Failed to download album cover art

Postby ictstbenedicts » Mon Aug 12, 2013 2:29 pm

We are looking at using Subsonic in our school as an alternative to iTunes amungst other things. We are having problems getting Album Cover Art to be displayed properly.

When we try to change it Google Image search correctly displayes a selection of image art results, but when we select one , we get "please wait" and then a message similar to that below:

org.apache.http.conn.ConnectTimeoutException: Connect to israbox.com/67.222.145.188:80 timed out

Subsonic is runnign on a Windows 7 PC which has been configured with a server IP address to ensure Active Directory Group Policy doesn't interfer but no joy.

Do some ports need opening up on the firewall (network) for this feature to work properly?

thanks

Looks like port 80 would need to be opened up, but that's standard web browsing, so if you can get on the internet, then that port should already be open. It's possible that your ISP may be blocking "inbound" http (port 80) traffic, in which case you would need some sort of web redirect from a place like no-ip.com that will take requests forwarded to port 80 and resend them to a different port.
