OGG Playback Issue On Android

Postby cirehawk » Tue Aug 06, 2013 5:51 am

I only deal with MP3 and OGG files for the most part, so I disabled transcoding. I am having an issue though when playing OGG files with the subsonic app on my android phone. Whenever I try to play an OGG file it will play the first 30 to 40 seconds or so, then it will just skip to the end of the song and stop playing. This is repeatable pretty much all the time. There doesn't seem to be an issue playing MP3 files on android. Anyone have an idea what is going on?

No one else has seen this issue? If I can't figure this out I may have to give up in subsonic for a bit, since I really don't want to re-rip my music to MP3 simply because it can't handle OGG well.

What android app are you using. What version of android. What device. I would recommend using dsub or ultrasonic android apps as they have active developers and work better with later versions of android. I transcoded flac to ogg without issue with dsub.

Thanks for the reply. I'm using the Subsonic android app. I didn't know there were other apps that worked with subsonic. My android version is 4.1.1 and my device is an HTC EVO 4G LTE. I'll test out the other apps you mentioned.
