Make certain "media Folders" private for certain users..

This suggestion has been around for a long time. I wouldn't think it would be too difficult for Sindre to set it up so that all the media folders can have check boxes for each folder entry to designate it as public or private and then set up similar check boxes for each user entry that enable users to access public or private folders, if you check both boxes then a user could access all folders.

This isn't rocket science is it?

It would be even more interesting to add groups. Then, for each media folder, you choose which groups have access.

Either with individual users or with users assigned to groups... it really is a needed feature.

Yeah, I'm not too particular about how sophisticated a setup anyone comes up with, but at the very least I would think that it would be pretty simple to designate a folder as public or private and then allow a user to access either or both.

That would be enough for me, but I'm sure others will dream up all manner of sophistication so that Aunt Minnie can only access folders 2,4,& 7 but Uncle Earl can only get to 1,3&5 except if it's Thursday and it rains ... I'm still struggling with the folder vs. tags and dates vs, titles thing.

Keeping it simple would be just fine by me, but so far we still got nuttin.

I'm hoping one of the modders picks up on this idea - I'll do a donation to whoever implements it.

I would like to see this also. It only seems like a feature that should be already built in but as I can see this topic has been around for some years and nothing is being done about it
