How to get duration of ape files?

Hi,

I'm trying to use subsonic api to show what I'm playing atm. But I can't know when player is off and I'm not listening to anything. I could use duration and minutesago to find out this, but on ape files there's no parameter duration in that xml file.

Is there a way to get duration or to know when player is playing or not?
