Can you please add a confirmation to the trash can (delete) button on the 'Now Playing' screen? I hate when I accidently hit it.

Didn't think I needed a separate topic for this.
Also, I very much appreciate the active work you do.

Tablet - no lockscreen controls

Postby acc3d » Thu Oct 31, 2013 3:32 am

The lockscreen controls work perfectly on my Nexus 4, but never show up at all on my Nexus 10. I was wondering if this is a bug or design choice. It would be great to have...

Can anybody else using Dsub on a tablet confirm this behavior?

Thanks

I've been experiencing sudden spikes in volume at random while listening on earbuds. It occurs randomly when a track begins, and if I press the volume down button once it'll return to the normal listening volume. For example, I just started a new album. The first track played at the set volume. But when the second track began, it played at max volume until I pressed the volume down button once on my earbuds volume controls.

This is more that just a minor annoyance, this is going to seriously mess up my hearing.

Here's my list (also posted it to the Google Play store):

1) There should be a tab where all the cached music on the device gets listed.

2) The top of the Library tree is labeled "Artists" but i doubt most people have a artist list in their mother directory. Why not label it "Media library" like the official Subsonic app?

3) In 'Recently added', when you select a folder then hit back, it takes you to that folders directory but calls it the name of the artist the originally select folder contained. Again, this only works for a one particle directory structure and I doubt most people have their music folders setup this way.

4) The official Subsonic app uses a much nicer "now playing" icon (the icon that tells the user which track from the list is currently playing). I suggest you use that or even better, use the bars that the Play Music and the Music app on iOS uses.

5) The app's icon looks good, but could be much better. How about something flat since that's the direction most OS's are going.

1) Since going into offline mode already does this, I probably won't be doing this.
2) Easy enough change.
3) Not sure how difficult this would be. The reason it sets the title to that is because that is what the API calls the parent. I will look into changing it so that it sets the name after loading to whatever is returned instead of just assuming it is the artist name.
4) In the major UI change that I am currently working on, I am trying to get better icons for a lot of stuff. I will just have to add that one to the change list as well :D

Thanks for the response!

Regarding #1, I feel that it's counter productive to go offline just to browse the cached collection on the device. iSub on iOS his this feature and it was great being able to jump there at any moment.

Regarding #3, the official Subsonic app just takes you back to "Recently added" when the back button is pressed. How about just implementing this?

Can't wait for the major update, let me know if you need help on anything. I'm a UI designer by profession so I might be of some help :)

Just got my new Nexus 5 ,loaded up Dsub and have been enjoying my tunes until today the shuffle list played out so i went to library> choose folder> hit shuffle ok ,not filling in anything on shuffle by popup and then get stuck on loading shuffle list. Shuffle list is loading???I'm at home in front of my router, server connection tests fine in dsub app but still stuck?? I can load an album by going to library and selecting album > Play NOw, just fine but shuffle , not so much.
Ideas?
Thanks

Is there ever going to be a feature to share what you are listening to on social media. It's a way of pushing the popularity of 'DSub', Subsonic, and the artist you are listening to. The feature is prominent on Soundcloud for example and I think it would be a great addition

I just started using Dsub. Since I use Subsonic for podcasts and audiobooks a lot I would love a skip ahead/back 30 seconds (or even better an interval which can be adjusted in settings) feature in the player. Any chance of something like this being added?

Swipe to the down to go forward, swipe up to go back. Hold down previous button to skip back until you let go. Hold next button to skip forward. Only works from now playing page.

Hi! Love the app. Just a quick request. I saw this on a different app (TransDroid) and thought it'd be a perfect feature for DSub. It has the option to use one IP address for a server when connected to a wifi network specified by essid, and different IP address for the same server if you're not connected to that wifi network. The rationale is that when you're at home you don't need your traffic going all over the internet if you can do it all on your LAN, but when you're out and about you can't connect to the local IP over the LAN. This makes the transition from home to out seamless while saving your internet's bandwidth.

Right now I have two servers set up - one for when I'm "At home" and one for when I'm "Away" that I can toggle between, but this isn't exactly ideal (as I often forget to toggle it). I've also had it happen once or twice where I am listening to an album at home, leave, and eventually the music stops after a few songs because can no longer connect to the "At home" server. Being able to change the IP address depending on whether or not you're on a specific wifi network should fix this.
