Subsonic not working on my Nexus4 with 3G

Postby gyzar » Mon Oct 28, 2013 9:34 am

Hi guys,

Subsonic is the coolest thing that ever happened to my music library, and I got almost everything working successfully with some searching through this forum, but one question remains unanswered: how can I make my Nexus connect to the music server when it's on 3G network?

The redirect URL of my server is gyzar.subsonic.org.
I CAN CONNECT:
from the computer in my office
from my Nexus if it is on wifi
from my friend's Galaxy S3, even if he's on 3g
I CAN'T CONNECT:
from my Nexus if it is on 3G.
from my friend's Nexus if is on 3G.
What should I do?

P.S.: I do have the premium account.

If your port passes the canyouseeme.org test, you need to doublecheck your entries on the phone itself...spelling and capitalisation matters!

It does pass it (I can see your service, your ISP is not blocking port 4040).

also, it DOES work (with the same server settings in the android app) when i am on any wifi network.

The only thing I can think of is that either the 3G or your home ISP is blocking the connection. You could do a Wireshark capture on the server while attempting to connect over 3G to see if any packets come into port 4040. Do the same from a WiFi connection to make sure your Wireshark capture should see the packets. If not, then either the 3G doesn't allow traffic to the home ISP, or the home ISP doesn't allow traffic from the 3G. Maybe try port 24040?
