Subsonic not scanning files from External HD

Hi all,

Subsonic is not scanning a media folder on an external HD A. However, it is able to scan a media folder on and external HD B.

Both HDs are working with any other applications, so I do not know what is wrong.

Troubleshooting:
I have uninstalled Subsonic 4.7
Deleted all folders on C:\Subsonic and C:\Program Files\Subsonic
Installed Subsonic 4.7
Added a media folder for HD A which was scanned
Added a media folder for HD B which was not scanned
Created a different folder on HD B, added files to it and added it as a media folder. It is not scanned either

In all cases the settings are saved. In HD B, the settings are saved, 1 to 53 files read and then it stops as if it was complete.

Does anyone know why this happens and how it can be fixed?

(I also seem to have lost all settings even though I had backed up the subsonic.script file. However, replacing it makes subsonic give an error message 503: Unavailable)

I have also tried to add media folders from HD a, remove them, clean-up DB and add media folders again.

Scanning is not working.

Having the exact same problem with 4.7. Just did a clean install after deleting Subsonic directory. Initial scan of media folder worked. When I add new folders the manual scan "scan media folders now" does not work.

There's something funny about files with older timestamps not being found by the scanner in 4.7. Can you try updating the tag of one file to see if it gets recognized in the scanning process afterwards?

The same thing happened to me when I was benchmarking the scanner of 4.7 with my own - mine was faster and the 4.7 scanner didn't find my newly added files (doh!). I haven't delved more into it since though.

Yep, downgrading to 4.6 has fixed the issue. This must be a bug. Any logs I can provide to help solve it?

I just hit an issue on 4.8 (build 3434) with "WARN FileUtil - Failed to list children for " where it was pointing to a specific folder (subfolder in my library for an album I just added) on my Win 7 box. I had made the folder with a cygwin SSH session instead of Explorer, so it had strange permissions. I created a new folder and moved the .mp3's to it and the issue was resolved on the subsequent media folder scan.
