Maybe someone is able to implement airplay for thumper! Is something like that possible? Any Idea?

Thanks,

Pcace

Pcace,

Yes, sadly, I've moved on to another method of streaming my media and therefore a different client.

The project is open source, but no one has stepped up or offered to take up the project. If anyone is interested, please do message me (on github would be best)!

Hi,
I cannot see how to contact you on Github :S
I have downloaded the source but it wont run as it comlains about the certificates:
Code: Select all
Code Sign error: The identity 'Mac Developer: Daniel Westendorf (E8C3C6AS95)' doesn't match any valid, non-expired certificate/private key pair in your keychains

Please contact me on here by PM or by emailing subwiji@icloud.com

Thanks

Paul

Paul,

While you're waiting to hear from the developer, you should be able to turn off code signing to play with the build. Click on the "Thumper project", then "Thumper" target, and then the "Build Settings" tab. I downloaded the source a while back to play with it and the bigger issue is the use of BWToolKit since Xcode 4 doesn't support Interface Builder plugins. You should be able to build it with Xcode 4, but you can't edit the interface; for that you need Xcode 3 and Interface Builder. Since all my Macs were running 10.8.x and Xcode 4 I decided not to try and jump through hoops to install Xcode 3.

Unfortunately, if you want to make any interface changes, you'll need Xcode 3 and Interface Builder. If you google "install xcode 3 on osx lion", you should find a couple of guides. I vaguely remember that you had to trick the installer because by default it won't let you install on 10.7 or 10.8 and also avoid installing some of the system tools that have kernel extensions. I'm not sure what your plans for the tool are, but it might be easier in the long run to just remove all the BWToolKit stuff and redo the interface. That way you can just install the latest version of Xcode and have access to all the current frameworks. At this point, it looks like Apple is not going to change its mind on Interface Builder plugins.

I think this is broken now on Mavericks, it keeps closing on me when I try to use it. I know it's not being worked on anymore so I was just holding out hope of it working forever.

Thumper is indeed broken on Mavericks. I tried compiling from source, using this fork: https://github.com/onigoetz/Thumper . I get this Ruby error:

/Users/jeroen/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/Thumper-burfhdjsellclndvblfckwnnwuzk/Build/Products/Debug/Thumper.app/Contents/Resources/Database.rb:2:in `<main>': undefined method `version' for class `Gem::Version' (NameError)

Thumper uses MacRuby, which seems to have some problems on Mavericks. There is a discussion about this here: https://github.com/MacRuby/MacRuby/issues/219 . We might have to wait for this to be fixed until we can run Thumper again.
