DSub has no volume

Samsung S4 recently upgraded to Android 4.3. Using November 30th, 2013 version. I pick the server and play the album and there is no sound. I can see the song indicator moving, but it quiet. I shut it down and use the Subsonic client and it plays fine.

Can you try to make sure that the equalizer is off. If it is try toggle ing it on then back off

As soon as I turned off the equalizer, sound came through like christmas angels. Well, not quite angels, it was The Strokes, but you get the idea.

Should I be avoiding the equalizer?

I don't think so, but every once in a while someone has problems because of the EQ. I have no idea why to be honest. You might need to just move all the sliders to get rid of whatever defaults that got applied on the update.
