Tomcat 6 + Subsonic 3.7 Permanent disk access issue

Postby predator7 » Tue Jun 30, 2009 7:16 am

Hi,

i have ubuntu 9.04 with fresch installed Tomcat 6. then i install subsonic 3.7 and enabled SSL in tomcat.

now all runs fine with subsonic.

but i have permanent disk access when i start tomcat. i tried to run tomcat without subsonic, the diskaccesses still there. with subsonic averagely every 5 seconds, and without subsonic averagely 9 second is there a disk access.

if i shut tomcat off there are no more disk accesses.

because this is a server on thats tomcat runs 24/7, its a big issue for me. it hurts the lifetime of the disk, and the hard drive can not get in standby.

so how can i change this behavior, so there is no more disk access from tomcat or subsonic?

I am using Tomcat as well on a Windows 7 install - and I do not have this problem (yet my drive keeps spinning up every 30 minutes or so...). Just curious whether you figured out what the reason was?!

OK, I guess I need to correct myself - I do seem to have the same problem after listening closely to my drive for an hour. Now I'm even more curious whether you found a solution for this.

Thanks.
