I am running Music Cabinet on OSX Mountain Lion Server with out problem. It did take a while for initial scan. My music library is about 700 gb , 100,00 plus songs. I followed the directions for postgres default install, default java install, and edited the .sh file to match my configuration. Hakko (the developer) used a Mac. Music Cabinet runs great on OSX however development stopped prior to Mavericks, that may have introduced some new problems.

Where do you put the LAME decoders? Mine are in Applications/Subsonic/transcode.

I'm with TNRocker on this. The first scan does take a little while but It should work just fine. I have some 230GB of tracks that are scanned daily.

Sadly, installing all this, especially since Hakko left, can be a pain if you're not a computer wiz. It took a while to sort out all my issues on MacOS. Shame it's that much of a hurdle, the setup is amazing but I guess at some point I'll move on. New isn't always better...

As posted elsewhere, my initial scan has made no progress overnight and all day today, after initially looking like it was working (numbers going up) when I first started it last night. Anyone on here any ideas on what might be happening/how long I should expect to wait until it completes this clearly crucial stage?

Thanks.
