Well, first when adjusting the levels in dsub volume levels decrease its like your increasing highs but then volume overall is decreased, with other apps the volume is not affected. Even adjusting the master level has no real effect on the volume.

I do sometimes queue up podcasts. Usually the short ones. However, now that I think of it, I think that I'm a little more on your side. Sometimes I choose to download my own podcasts and just place them in a different folder structure, rather than having Subsonic do it. Usually I do this, when I need to go further back in the history of the podcast than the RSS feed allows.

So if we implemented it your way, I would still be able to jump forward and backward on the track without it being an actual Subsonic podcast. So I guess even knowing the limitations of not being able to queue multiple podcasts, I say go for it and let's see how it works when it is enabled by only a single track being in the playlist.

PS. At one point I ended up just deleting my old podcasts feeds, setting the server to download unlimited podcasts, then re-adding them so I could get the full history. For things like Stuff You Should Know, it's invaluable to have the full backlog. They constantly mention other episodes that interest me so I can go back and find them

My first thought is that it should be configurable via a setting. However, if this wasn't possible, I would recommend a 30 sec. jump forward and a 10 second jump backwards. Although other people might have other preferences.

I'll start it off as a hard coded value and move to a option if people are unhappy with the default. Its actually extremely easy to add it as a option, I just try to avoid putting too many pointless options since there are already about a billion of them in there.

So did the option to set the buffer length disappear recently? I had that cranked up to 60 seconds to insure no hiccups in my low coverage area. How is that adjusted now? Thanks!!

I had this idea and I thought I'd share.

So I'm a huge fan of this band Phish, and collect all of their live recordings. As a result, my music collection is overwhelmingly comprised of Phish, so much so that when I create a "random" playlist, it is filled with many many Phish songs, and often with repeats. I would love to be able to generate random playlists with the ability to filter out certain artist(s). For me this would just be filter out Phish; I know there are many Grateful Dead fans who would appreciate this ability as well, although I'm not sure how many dsub users this would actually apply to.

I plan on adding the ability to rate albums/songs at some point, and to be able to set the app to default to not playing anything below a certain rating. It wouldn't be perfect, but I could probably modify it to be able to filter out from the shuffle playlist as well (or possibly make an option for whether it filters out either, both, or neither). It probably won't be in for a while though, because I have other priorities to get working right now.

Since I updated to the latest beta, the highest bitrate I seem to be able to get is 128kbps. I checked some songs that were cached before I updated and they were the maximum bitrate. But some 320 and V0 tracks that I've listened to in the last few days get capped at 128 when I the Cached Bitrate in Details.

Unlimited on everything. I also just tried changing it to 320kbps and had the same results.

So I think it's only showing the Cached Bitrate as 128kbps when it's a track that has a variable bitrate. I just loaded a V0 song and it showed the Cached Bitrate as 128kbps, but when I tried a 320kbps track the Cached Bitrate was correct.

Ah yes that makes more sense. I believe that the variable bit rate part has always been a problem. I'm not sure whether ffmpeg isn't converting them correctly or if android just doesn't read the nitrate correctly though. Want to look at the before and after file size and see if it appears to be low like it was a 128 kpbs file?

File sizes are the same. So it's just a matter of the Cached Bitrate of VBR tracks displaying as 128kbps. Sorry to waste your time.

I just encountered a real error though. After choosing "show album" or "show artist" in the Now Playing screen, then changing the phone's orientation (vertical to horizontal or horizontal to vertical), the background becomes the Library screen.
